Offering strange fire upon the Golden Altar is a violation against heaven itself because it foreshadows the throne of God

NOTE: Remember, Daniel was in captivity to the Babylonians when he saw this vision. He is looking into the future. When we read Daniel it is History to us. (Dan.8:1-3)

THIS IS KEY

The Ram and the He Goat Vision

There are two "visions" that Gabriel is giving to Daniel. One concerning the kingdoms of Media-Persia (the ramDan.8:1-13, Dan.8:15-25) and Greece, (the he goat) and other concerning "the vision of the "evening and morning. (The Cleansing of the Sanctuary. ( Dan.8:14, 26-27)

I.  The first Vision (The Ram and the He Goat)

"In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, after that
which appeared unto me at the first.  And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at
Shushan in the palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of Ulai.
Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns:
and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.  I saw the ram
pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there
any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.  And as I was
considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the
ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.  And he came to the ram that had two horns,
which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.  And I saw him come close
unto the ram, and he was moved with choler (anger)  against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns:
and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon
him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.  Therefore the he goat waxed very great:
and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four
winds of heaven.  And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the
south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.  And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it
cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. Yea, he magnified himself
even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of the sanctuary was
cast down.  And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the
truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered."
(Dan.8:1-12)

   A.  The ram with two horns are the kings of Media Persia  (Dan.8:3-4, 20)

Daniel is now seeing more details of the next two kingdoms after Babylon, that of the
"breast and arms of silver and belly of brass
(Dan.2:31-32, 39).  Behold, "there stood before
river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was  higher the
than the other, and the higher came up last. I saw the ram pushing westward, and north
ward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any
that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great."

            1.  The "infallible" interpretation of Gabriel

Infallible because Gabriel was told, "make this man..understand the vision"
(Dan.8:16-17)
                   and it is inspired scripture.
(2Tim.3:16-17) Daniel said, "I heard a man's voice between the
banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision"

(Dan 8:16-17). So Gabriel did so. He said, “the ram which Daniel saw having two horns
are the kings of Media / Persia
(Dan.8:20).
                   a.  NOW we have the beginning of this vision. It is the time of Media-Persia (HISTORY)
                   b.  In
Nebuchadnezzar's dream Media-Persia was not named (Review: Page 1)(Dan.2:39)
                        (1)  Babylon
(Dan.2:38)  Lion (Dan7:1-4)
                        (2)  Another kingdom
(Dan.2:39) / Bear (Dan.7:5) / The Ram (Dan.8:20)identified as
                              Media-Persia. (
Dan.11:1-35)
                              (a)  Media-Perisa is the beginning of Daniel's prophecy concerning of Persia by
                                     the king of Greece /
(Dan.11:1-35)
                              (b)  Daniel's 70  Week Prophecy begins with Media-Persia
(Dan.9:24-25)

NOTE:Can you seehow all of Daniel's visions and Prophecies are ONE
BIG PICTURE.  For Daniel it is all future. However, for to us TODAY. Babylon,
Media-Persia, Greece and the beginnings of the 4th kingdom
[0] on the earth
                                     are
HISTORYto us which includes the "language" (i.e.Temple, daily sacrifice

A further proof that Dan.8:1-13, 15-25 are HISTORY TO US, BC (before the Cross)

                        (3)  Another third kingdom
(Dan.2:39) / Leopard (Dan.7:6) / Rough Goat (Dan.8:21)
                              Identified as Greece.

         2. The time frame of this vision (Dan.8:1-13,19-26)is still  historyto us

                   a.  The Ram (Media-Persia
Dan.8:20) and the he goat (Greece Dan.8:21) is a vision of the
reign of Media-Persia and Greece. (
History to us today, not end-times)
                   b.  Gabriel interpreted the "rough goat is the king of Grecian (Greece) and the great horn
that is between his eyes is the first king.

                        end-times

NOTE:
Historical record. This "great horn" was Alexandria the Great[2] (Dan.8:8, 21). The "he  goat"
(the kingdom of Greece) waxed very great: and when he (the great horn / Alexandria the great) " was
strong (Dan.8:8, 21), he "was broken."
History records Alexandria dying at the age of 33. [0]

Four horns stood up in place of the notable horn. (Dan.8:8, 22) Gabriel has interpreted the
rough goat is the king of Grecia: (Greece) and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.
                     (
History identifies the first king as Alexander the great). "Now that being broken, (Died at 33 yrs old)
whereas four (of Alexander's Generals) stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation,
(of Greece) but not in his (Alexander's) power.

                   c.  In the "latter time" of their kingdom, (the four Generals of Alexanders army which is Greece)

(REMEMBER: This still History to us TODAY!Dan.8:20-23)
                   d. One of them (the four Generals of Alexanders army) came fourth a little horn.
(Dan.8:9)
A king of fierce countenance, understanding dark sentence shall stand up.
(Dan.8:22-23)

e.  This king /
"little horn"( a king of fierce wasAntiochus Epiphanies.[0](175-164 BC.?) king
of Syria. (Dan.10 -11:34 fills in more details).
[W.W.Patterson / Bible Treasures]

             3.  NOTE: Thelanguageof this vision(Dan.8:10-13, 24-26)

                   a.
This daily sacrifice[0](Dan.8:9-13, 23-26 )
                        In Antiochus Epiphanies day
[0](175-164 BC.?)  the "daily sacrifice" was part of the pattern

Tabernacle / Temple[0]whichwas a "pattern of heaven itself" (Heb.9:24)  To take this away

animal (Lev.17:1-9) sacrifice away is an abomination to God because the daily sacrifice was a
"schoolmaster to bring us to Christ
(Gal.3:24) who fulfilled the Law of the daily sacrifice. (Matt.5:17-19,
                          Heb.10:1-4; 10:26-31)

                        (1)  NOTE: How crucial Old Testament types
[0] were (and STILL are) "in the sight of the Lord"[0]

                              (a)  Ishmael
"mocked" Isaac and was cut off (Gen.21:1-11, Gal.4:21-28)
because Isaac (in the

sight of the Lord) was a "figure" of Christ he (Ishmael) was cut off
from the lineage[0] to Christ.
                                       (Matt.1:1-17, Rom.9:5)

                              (b) Esau
despised his birthright[0] that was (in the sight of the Lord) a "schoolmaster to
                                    bring
(Matt.1:1-18) us to Christ" (Gal.3:24) Hundreds of years later, God said, "Esau have I hated
                                       (Mal.1:2-3, Rom.9:13)
NOTE: The History of Esau (Gen.25:)

                              (c)  Aaron's two sons offered "strange fire" before the Lord in the Tabernacle (a pattern of
the heavenly Tabernacle) "and there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them. This
(in sight of the Lord) was a violation of heaven itself.
(Lev.10:1-21; 16:1-2)
--  Aaron's two sons were not to enter the Most Holy. Only Aaron could enter
(Lev.10:1-2,
                                            Heb.5:9:7-8)
NOTE: The "Holy Spirit this signifying" (Heb.9:8)
                                    --
"Strange fire"[0] (foreigner, profane, to commit adultery
--  It was strange fire because source of the "fire" was NOT from the
BrazenAltar, which is
                                        "pattern of heaven itself"
(Heb.8:1-5; 9:23-24)

                              (d)  Under the Old Covenant Moses was told to strike the rock(Exod.17:6, 1Cor.10:1-11) This
                                    "rock" was a "type"
[0] (ensample) of Christ. As Israel journey they complained about having no
water again (Num.20:11) Moses "struck the rock twice" when he was told to "speak to the
Rock" (Christ) and water came out." Because of this he did not enter the land (Num.20:11-12,
                                       1Cor.10:1-11, Heb.6:6)
This is (in the sight of the Lord) crucifying Christ afresh

                              (e)  Uzzah put his hand on the
Ark of the Covenant (which had God's name recorded upon it [0]
1Chron.13:6) and God "smote (killed) him"and he died because (in the sight of the Lord) he
violated the pattern of the heavenly Tabernacle.
(1Chron.13:9-14; 15:1-15) Uzzah was not of the
                                    tribe of Levi
(Num.4:15, 1Chron.6:26)

                              (f)  When David brought the Ark of the Covenant back from captivity (to the
Philistines) the men of Bethshemesh looked into the ark
[0] and fifty thou-
sand and three score and ten men were slaughtered by God.
(1Sam.6:13-19)
--  The Ark is a "shadow" of the throne of God
(Heb.9:23; 10:1-4 / Eph.1:20)
--  When "the men of Bethshemesh (removed the blood-stained-mercy-seat)
and looked into the Ark. This brought God's judgment because the "blood
stained mercy seat was removed. (Think of the Passover lamb blood
preserved all those in the house
Exod.12:1-14, 1Cor.5:7-8)

--   The golden pot of manna
This manna which (in the sight of the Lord) was a testimony (a witness
                                         Judgment) against them.
(Exod.16:1-31, Num.11:1-20 /v.6-; 21:5,  John.6:31-59 / John.1:1-14)
Jesus said I am the true manna come down from heaven. God saw this as a "loathing" (or an "
affront" (ORIGIN / Middle English (as a verb): from Old French afronter ‘to slap in the face,
(insult,’ based on Latin ad frontem ‘to the face.’) to Christ.

                                    --  Aaron's rod that budded
In the sight of the Lord,
his was God's vindication of Aaron as high priest which foreshadows
the vindication of Christ being our High Priest
(Heb.3:1) in the Book of Hebrews. (Exod.28:1-38,
                                            Lev.16:1-2, Num.16:1-50, Heb.5:1-14)

--  The tables of the covenant.[0]
No body can keep these tables of the covenant.
[0](Exod.19-40. Matt.5:17-19; 7:9-14,
                                            Rom.8:1-4, Gal.3:24, James.2:10)
Without the blood stained Mercy Seat (i.e. Christ our
                                         porpitiation
[0]Rom.3:25, 1John.2:2) our sin (Rom.3:23; 5:10-14) is exposed / uncovered
                                            (Heb.4:13)
which brings God's Judgment. (NOTE: John.3:36)

             3.  (Continued)  The language of this vision(Dan.8:10-13, 24-26)

                   b.  To  wax great against the Tabernacle / Temple[0] is (in the sight of the Lord) to cast down some
of the host and stars to the
ground even to the host of heaven. (Dan.8:10)

                          (1)  Remember, Gabriel is making Daniel (who was in Babylon) to understand when this vision
will take place "in the latter time of their (the four kings / kingdoms that "stood up" in Alexander's
the great place)  kingdom" (the time of
Greece) . (History to us today / Before the Cross)
                        (2)  Stamped upon them,"
(Dan.8:10; 11:) belongs in the time of Greece.[0] (Antiochus Epiphanies
175-164 BC.) also called "a vile person
(Dan.11:21)
                   c.  Sanctuary was cast down
(Dan.8:6)
                        (1)  "in the latter time of their (the four Generals of Alexanders army which is
Greece) kingdom"

(Dan.8:8, v.23)
                        (2)  The Sanctuary, Temple, House are all the same
(Exod.25:8, Heb.9:1-2, 1Chron.22:19; 28:10,
                                 Haggai.1:2; 2:3-7, Neh.10:39, Dan.9:26, Matt.23:36-39; 24:1-4,
Eph.2:20-22, 1Peter.2:5 )

                        (3)  This House / Sanctuary / Temple was the same Temple that Daniel (while in Babylon
Dan.9:1-2)
                               prophesied would be restored.
[0](Dan.9:24-27 See Page 7  NOW (during the kingdom of Greece
                                 538 BC?? /
History) it is being cast down again[0] (trodden under foot Dan.8:11)
                   d.  Magnified himself (little horn / (Antiochus Epiphanies (175-164 BC.) also called "a vile person

(Dan.11:21)  even to the Prince of princes (Dan.8:25) "in the latter time (Greece) of their (the four
kings that stood up place of kingdom"
(Dan.8:23)

4.   Then I (Daniel) heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint
"which spake, how long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of
desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
[0]
                   a.  How long shall be the vision
concerning the daily sacrifice (Dan.8:1-13; 11-13)
                        (1)  First we need to understand how long is the daily sacrifice was in force
It was in forced "until the reformation" in the sight of the Lord
[0] i.e. until Christ
                               the Messiah is come.
(Heb.9:1-10; 10:1-25)
                       (2)   Therefore this vision (of the Ram and He Goat
Dan.8:1-12) must be within this time period
                       (3)   Offering animal sacrifices After the Cross is an abomination in the sight of the Lord.
[0]

      (Heb.10:25-31)

                         (2)  How longshall be the vision concerning the transgression of desolation
                               (a)  What is "transgression?" It is
a revolt (national, moral or religious):—rebellion, sin,
                                     transgression, trespass.
[0]
                               (b)  What is "desolation?"- make amazed, be astonied, (be an) astonish(-ment), (be, bring
into, unto, lay, lie, make) desolate(-ion, places), be destitute, destroy (self), (lay, lie, make)
                                       waste, wonder.
[0]
                         (3)  How long to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? (Dan.8:1-13)
                                (a)  Sanctuary (also called the Temple, House)
                                (b)  Trodden under foot
[0] | abasement (the act or the thing):—tread (down) -ing, (to be) trodden
                                       (down) under foot.

   (4)  NOTE:  The answer that Daniel was given "Unto two thousand and three hundred days;
                                then shall the
sanctuary be cleansed.(Dan.8:1-13)
                                (a)  This does not answer what Daniel saw
(Review: Dan.8:1-13) "Daniel said, "I sought for the
                                       meaning"
(Dan.8:15)
                                (b)  Then Gabriel was told to "make this man understand the vision (i.e. the Ram and the He
                                       Goat)
(Dan.8:1-12, 23-25)
                                (c)   After explaining (infallibly interpreting) the Ram and He Goat Vision, Daniel said he was
"astonished at the vision, but none understood it."
(Dan.8:27)
                                (d)  Look at what Daniel said it was "
the vision of the evening and the mornings" (Dan.8:14) that
he was"astonished at" ("days" in Hebrew is evenings and mornings)

(e)  NOTE: Sanctuary being cleansed is not the same Sanctuary being cast down / trodden down.
This cleansing of the Sanctuary is prophesying the future cleansing of the Church to be the
Bride of the LORD JESUS CHRIST
