PHASE 2 reveals how God has foreshadowed in the language of the Old Testament, the pattern for building
and presenting the Church as a Bride for the Lord Jesus Christ. As Eve was to the first man Adam.
We (the Church) need to watch and pray "lest byany means, as the serpent beguiled Eve (Gen.3:1-7)
through his subtilty, (trickery or sophistry, deception) so your minds(Rom.12:1-2, 2Cor.10:4) should be corrupted from the simplicity (of the pattern) that is in Christ" (2Cor.11:1-4). God has recorded in Genesis to Revelation ONE PLAN and ONE PURPOSE that has been "hid since the world began" (Eph.3:1-12). This chart below illustrates how each book from Genesis to Revelation tells how God's redemptive plan / purpose has unfolded book by book. When coming into the New Testament (Covenant) Paul the apostle and wise master builder (1Cor.3:10) says, "Now all these things (The Law / Tabernacle / High Priest / Priesthood / Offerings / Psalm's / the Prophets) happened unto them (the children of Israel) as ensamples or types: and they are written for our admonition" (i.e. the Churches TODAY) (1Cor.10:11).Review: Home Page
This study is our "launching-pad" (so-to-speak). It is our foundation and framework for all of the other PHASE (3-12). The children of Israel leaving Egypt and possessing the Land, is a picture (i.e. "ensample" or type (1Cor.10:11) of what God has done, what He is presently doing, and where He is yet to take the Church, the Bride of Christ / Eve (Gen.12:1; 15:13-21, Exod.12:1-15 / 1 Cor.5:7-8) Deut.12:1-12, 1 Chron.17:1-15; 22:1-19, 2 Chron.5:1-14 / Eph.2:20-22, 1 Cor.10:1-11). This chart gives a brief summary.
The apostle Paul wrote, "Whatsoever things that were written aforetime (the Old Testament) were written for our learning, (the Church TODAY) that we through patience and comfort of the (Old Testament) scriptures might have hope" (Rom.15:4, Gal.1:11-12, 2 Tim.3:16). This is the first of three patterns that parallel each other confirming that God is working according to a deliberate plan and purpose.
