This GAP / waiting period is "as it was in the days of Noah." When the Ark was FINISHED, he entered the Ark and waited for the "flood" to happen [0]
See PHASE 6 for Interpreting the Prophets
NOTE:
"...the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life..." Some use this verse for an excuse not to "study to show yourself approved unto God."
However IF your are really being lead by the Spirit "He will guide you into ALL TRUTH (Old and New Testaments)
Did you notice "written by ink" / "tables of stones" is NOW WRITTEN ON THE FLESHLY TABLES OF THE HEART. Why would this happen if it is a "dead letter?"
SECOND COMING when the Mystery of God is FINISHED
(Acts.3:18-24, Rev.10:7; 11:15)
Introduction to the Book of Joel
Peter said, "this is that (the day of Pentecost) which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh:[0] and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy" (Joel.2:28-32, Acts.2:16-18)
I. Peter infallibly[0]interpreted Joel(Joel.2:28-29)to be prophesying of the day of Pentecost(Acts.2:1, 16-17)
A. Upon further study of the Book of Joel (Joel.2:28-29) it will be discovered that the language of "the day of
Pentecost (i.e. The Feast of Weeks[0] / Feast of Harvest[0]) is throughout the Book of Joel (Acts.2:17)
B. Paul says, this language of the holy days (feast, Festival days) is the shadow of things to come, which is
the New Testament Church. / The Body of Christ (Col.2:16 / Matt.5:17-19,[0] Heb.9:1-10; 10:1, Eph.3:5,
1Peter.1:10-12)
II. The "apostles doctrine"(Acts.2:42, Luke.24:44-45) says, "the prophets (which includes the prophet Joel)
have enquired and searched diligently, who (i.e.Joel) prophesied ofthe grace that should come unto
you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them (Joel and the other
Prophets) did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, (Acts.3:18)andthe glory that
should follow. (Acts.3:19-21,24-25)Unto whom (i.e. Joel and the other prophets) it was revealed, that not unto
themselves, but unto us (i.e. The Church) they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by
them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the
angels desire to look into." (1Peter.1:10-12, Matt.5:17-19, Rom.3:21-31; 16:25-26; Acts.28:20-23)
A. The Sufferingsof Christ ("he hath so fulfilled"(Acts.3:18)
1. The Prophet Isaiah (cut off from the land of the living Isa.53:00)
2. The Prophet Daniel (Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment
to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and
two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore
and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself
B. And theglory that should followafter the Cross(Acts.3:19-24, 1Peter.1:10-12)
1. Can you see (Eph.1:18) these steps
a. The sufferings of Christ an being crucified is all that Jesus began to do and teach. (Acts.1:1)
b. The still a Glory (1Peter.1:10-12) / restoration(Acts.3:19-24) that should follow after the Cross.
(Rom.8:18, Eph.1:18; 5:21-32, Col.1:27)
2. Interpreted by Peter / 1Peter.1:10-12) as the "the times of restitution (restoration)[0]of all things,
3. God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
4. NOTE: The Glory that is to follow is not the SECOND COMING because the Mystery of God must be
FINISHED BEFORE JESUS CAN RETURN. (Acts.3:19-24, Rev.10:7; 11:15 / Dan.2:35, 44-45) The Second
Coming is destruction. It is a GREAT AND TERRIBLE DAY OF THE LORD.[0]
Here is a sampling.
III. Joel[0]used the Law to prophecy of the grace that should come(Acts.2:17-21)
The apostle Paul writes, "Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles?[0] Yes, of
the Gentiles also: (1Peter,1:18-20, Eph.1:4; 2:1-22; 3:1-12) Seeing it is one God, which shall justify
the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.[0] Do we then make void / abolish[0]
the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. (Rom.3:21-32, Matt.5:17-19)
A. Moses (the law giver) said, "A prophet shall the Lord you God raise up unto you of your
brethren, LIKE UNTO ME; HIM SHALL YE HEAR" (Acts.3:22, Deut.18:15, Heb.3:1-6, Matt.5:17-19)
B. What did Jesus say, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am
not come to destroy, but to fulfill." (Matt.5:17-19, John.16:10-15, Luke.24:45-46, Gal.1:11-12,
Rom.3:21-31)Dan.9:27confirm (not destroy) the covenant.
1. Fulfill / confirm meaning to complete[0] in Christ Jesus. (Rom.8:1-4)
2. As Christians we are to allow the reality of the patterns of the Law to be fulfilled /
realized in our everyday living as we walk in Christ (Rom.8:1-4, 2Cor.5:17)
a. Before the Cross the purpose of the Law was to bring us to Christ. (Gal.3:24,
Heb.9:1-10, 1Peter.2:5, Heb.3:1)
b. After the Cross we are to live in the fulfillment of the Law, as a new creature in Christ.
(Rom.5:10-21;6:1-23; 7:1-14; 8:1-4)
3. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
(Heb.9:1-10; 10:1-4)
C. Law(the blueprint) and Grace (the building according to the blueprint) do not fight against each other.
"Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law." (Rom.3:21-31; 8:1-4)
/ in the mouth of two or three witnesses. (Gen.41:32, Deut.17:6; 19:15, Matt.18:16,1Cor.16:1)
1. Joel used the language of the Law of the Feast of Pentecost (to speak to us / Church)
a. Corn (the Feast of Harvest, of Weeks, Pentecost(Joel.1:11, Exod.23:14-19, Lev.23:23-44)
b. Joel used the language of the Grain Harvest, the early rain that brought in the harvest of Pentecost
c. The wheat, corn an barley harvest that took place in the 3rd. month (Lev.23:1-21) of their calendar
year. (Deut.11:14, James.5:7-8, Joel.2:18-19)
d. Joel used the early (former) rain. This rain was given "that thou mayest gather in the corn (The
Feast of Pentecost) (Deut.11:13-14, Acts.2:1-17)
d. Joel used the language of the Field (where the corn and the wheat grew) (Joel.1:10, Lev.23:15-22)
2. Joel used thelanguageof the Law of the Feast of Tabernacles (to speak to us / Church)
a. New wine(Joel.1:1-10) the harvest of the grapes at the end of the year. This was the Feast of
Tabernacles(Joel, Lev.23:23-45, Joel.1:5, 1o; 2:19)
b. Joel used the language of oil / olives(Joel.2:24)
c. The oil came from the olives which is the fruit harvest at the years end (Joel.1:7, 10)
d. Joel used the Latter rain prophecy of the grace that should come (Joel.2:23-27, James.5:7-8)
d. The Vine, Vine Dressers (Joel.1:7, 10)
e. Joel used the language of Trumpets being blown (Joel.2:1, 15, Num.10:1-10, Lev.23:23-24)
f. The language of sounding an Alarm with the trumpet (Joel.2:1, Num.10:5)
g. Sanctify a fast (afflicting soul / Solemn Assembly)(Joel.2:15, Lev.16:1-34; 23:23-44)
h. The Altar, High Priest, and Priesthood(Joel.2:15-17, Lev.16:1-34)
These are a shadow of good things to come(Col.2:16-12
3. Joel also used the language of...
a. The Meat Offering
b. The Drink Offering,
c. The Fig tree
4. Why didn't Joel speak of the Passover Feast?
a. This is where an overall understanding of the Major and Minor Prophets is crucial to a proper
interpretation. NOTE: The prophets (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel etc, spoke of the "sufferings of Christ"
which is The Feast of Passover.
b. Joel was starting with Pentecost ("the glory that should follow" 1Peter.1:10-12, 2Cor.3:1-18), then to
the decline (Joel.2:25 / Locust, cankerworm, caterpiller) of the Church. THEN the restoration of the
Church.
P. Peter said Joel and the other prophets did not know what they were saying, as it now
revealed(Matt.13:10-17, Eph.3:5, 2Cor.3:1-18)
1. "For this cause(Eph.2:11-22) I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye have heard of the
dispensation of the grace(1Peter.1:10-12) of God which is given me (Gal.1:11-12) to you-ward: How that
by revelation (Gal.1:11-12) he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby,
when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages
(generations) was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles
and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, (Eph.3:1-12) and of the same body,
and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Whereof I was made a minister, according to the
gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
2. Remember: Joel was using the Law to explain the grace. (1Peter.1:10-12)
3. Jesus said, Moses wrote of me(John.5:46, Rom.3:21-31, Gal.3:24)
4. Jesus opened the disciples / apostles understanding to the Law, the Prophets and the Psalms
(Luke.24:27-45)because they "pertain to the kingdom of God" (Acts.1:1-3, Luke.24:1-45)
NOTE: This language is prophesying of the grace that should come unto you (1Peter.1:10-12,
Rom.16:25-26) "Now (Eph.3:5, 1Cor.2:1-14) to him that is of power to stablish you according to my
gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept
secret since the world began, (Luke.1:70, 1Peter,1:18-20, Eph.1:4; 2:1-22; 3:1-12, 2Tim.1:9, Titus.1:2) But
now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the
everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith." (Rom.16:25-26)
IV. Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ(John.1:17)
A. Some think that "grace and truth"abolished the Law ??(2Cor.3:13, Eph.2:15)
1. Why would Spirit of God testify of the grace that should come, through Joel using the Law of
Moses if it abolished? (What has been abolished is the bondage to the Law and the penalty of the Law
we cannot keep.(Matt.5:17-19, Luke.24:27-13-45, Rom.16:25-26 [2Tim.3:16-17] 1Peter.1:10-12, Joel.1:1-)
2. Why would JESUS teach Paul (Gal.1:11-12) that the "LAW" was abolished, and then say I am not come
to destroy the Law but to fulfill (Matt.5:17-19)
a. What has been "abolished" is the penalty for sin "For what the law could not do, in that it was
weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin,
condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk
not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Rom.5:10-21; 6:1-23; 7:1-14, Heb.7:1-28)
3. The Key words "but to fulfill" (Matt.5:17-19)
a. We cannot keep the Law, because if we offend in the smallest part of the Law we guilty of
it all (Rom.3:1-31; 8:1-4) Your efforts are like the "fig leaf aprons" (Gen.3:1-24, Isa.64:6)
b. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, (Titius.2:11-12) God
sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, (John.1:1-14, Phil.2:5-8) and for
condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, (as
we become a new creature / creation in Christ[0]2Cor.5:17-21) who walk(Eccl.5:1-2) not after
the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Rom.8:1-4)
c. Grace teaches "us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, (the Law exposes Rom.7:7,
Heb.10:1-4) Grace teaches us to live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world."
(Titus.2:11-12)
B. Some think that Christ is the end of the Law??(Rom.10:4)
1. Why did Jesus say "I am not come to destroy the Law and Prophets" (Matt.5:17-19)
2. The answer is the PENALTY of the Law has ended because I have been crucified with Christ, (Gal.2:20)
buried with Him, (Rom.6:1-11) and resurrected with Him (Rom.6:1-11)
C. What about "the prophets and the law prophesied until John."? (Matt.11:13)
1. This is true, in fact the Law was a schoolmaster "imposed on them" (Israel) until Christ (reformation)
came (Heb.9:1-10) to bring us to Christ (Gal.3:24)
2. The Law (that could never take away sin Heb.10:1-4)
3. THEN JESUS (The Word made flesh) fulfilled / confirmed what the Law required. (Demands) He did not
destroy / abolish, the (demands) requirements. God has not changed His mind.
a. After the Cross God still has a TEMPLE in its reality / fulfillment (Eph.2:20-22)
b. After the Cross God still has a OFFERINGS in their realty / fulfillment (1Peter.2:5)
c. After the Cross God still requires a "SWEET SMELLING SAVOR" to be preeminent in
our Offerings. (Eph.5:1-2)
d. After the Cross God still has a HIGH PRIEST to come before Him in their realty / fulfillment
(1Peter.2:5, Rev.1:6; 5:10)
e. After the Cross God still has a PRIESTHOOD in their realty / fulfillment (1Peter.2:5)
f. After the Cross God still has a ALTAR in it's realty / fulfillment (Heb.13:10)
g. After the Cross God still requires CIRCUMCISION in it's realty / fulfillment(Col.2:10-12)
h. After the Cross God still has an ISRAEL in it's realty / fulfillment (Gal.15-16)
i. After the Cross God still TRUMPETS in their realty / fulfillment
j. After the Cross God still requires us to celebrate FEAST DAYS in theit reality (Col.2:16-17, 1Cor.5:7-8)
And there are many more examples
D. Some think that the Law is a dead letter??
1. This scripture is used to support this thought. "God has made us able[0] ministers of the new testament;
not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. (2Cor.3:6)
a. What is the letter? (2Cor.3:6)
(1) The context of 2Cor.3:1-18 is the Law (written in tables of stone / written in ink)
(2) After sin entered the world, "the Lord God...drove out man (of the garden)
and placed...Cherubims..and a flaming sword" because of what He said. (Gen.3:22-24, Heb.4:12)
It was certain death (because of the Word that God said) to enter back into the Garden of God.
Sin brought separation. (Gen.3:24, Rom.5:10-14, 2Cor.6:14-18)
b. Paul writes, "For I was alive without the law once: (Rom.5:10-14 Adam to Moses v.14)
c. But when the commandment (the Law / the Letter) came, sin revived, and I died. (the letter
kills because it exposes sin, but not take away sin (Heb.10:1-4)(Rom.5:10-21; 6:1-23; 7:1-14)
d. And the commandment, (the letter of the Law) which was ordained to life, I found to be
unto death. (Deut.30:1-20, Rom.7:10)
e. For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. (Rom.7:11)
f. Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. (Rom.7:12-13)
g. Was then that which is good (the letter of the Law) made death unto me? God forbid.
(Rom.7:13)
h. But sin, that it might appear sin (i.e. The Law exposes sin that has been "passed upon
ALL men" (Rom.5:12-14; 6:1-23; 7:1-14, Eph.2:1-8)
i. The Law worketh (works) death in me (because we cannot keep the Law Rom.3:1-31)
by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
NOTE: Paul writes that the "letter" wrought in me all manner of concupiscence (for what is
forbidden)[0](Rom.7:8) "For without the law (the "letter") sin was dead" (Rom.7:12-13)
THE PROBLEM IS US!
J. For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. (Rom.7:13)
k. The Old Testament Law is part of "all scripture" but we cannot keep the Law (Rom.15:4,
2Tim.3:16-17, Rom.3:1-31)
l. THE SOLUTION IS...
(1) Be crucified with Christ who "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which
are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the
Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what
the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in
the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteous
-ness[0] of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the
Spirit. (Rom.8:1-4, Gal.2:20)
(2) Be buried with Christ in Water Baptism(Rom.6:1-11)
(3) Be resurrected with Christ (Rom.6:1-11)
NOTE: This eliminates us as we are in Christ
E. Some think that we are no longer under the Law
1. THE TRUTH IS we (those that are born again) are no longer under the PENALTY / CURSE OF THE LAW
However, those that reject Christ are under the curse of the Law (NOTE: John.3:36, Jude.1:14-19, Gal.3:13)
a. JESUS said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets:[0] I am not come to
destroy, but to fulfill." (Matt.5:17-19. Rom.7:)
(1) Fulfill - Complete[0] "for it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats (THE LAW) should
take away sins" (Heb.9:1-28; 10:4)
(2) The LAW was a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ and for it continuing in it's fulfillment
(completion)
(3) Here are some examples of how the Law was fulfilled not destroyed.
(NOTE: Black color =The Law / Blue color= It's fulfillment)
(a) Circumcision (Gen.17:9-14, Acts.15:1-21; 16:3, Gal.2:3-5: 6:12,Rom.2:28-29, Col.2:10-12
(b) Days (Exod.16:26, Rom.14:1-5, Col.2:16-17, Heb.4:1-11)
(c) Months (Lev.23:1-44, Col.2:16-17 / 1Cor.5:7-8)
(d) Years (Lev.25:1-11, Luke.4:16-19 "year")
(e) Priesthood / Sacrifices (Lev.1-5, 1Peter.2:5-9, Rom.12:1-2, Phil.4:18, Heb.13:1-5)
(f) The High Priest (Exod.28:1-43, Lev.16:1-34, Heb.2:17; 3:1; 4:14-17; 5:1-6; 7:1-28; 9:1-25)
(4) Take the example of the High Priest
(a) This pattern of the High Priest has NEVER changed. It is fulfilled / confirmed in Christ
(Matt.5:17-19) It has not been done away with nor abolished. (See PHASE 4. Page.9)
(b) There is still a Tabernacle (in the heavens Heb.9:24-25, 2Cor.4:18, Col.3:1-3)
(c) The pattern remains the same. "The Holy Ghost this signifying" using the Old
Testament shadow (Lev.16:1-2, Heb.9:7-8; 10:1-25) that ONLY the High Priest can
go within the Vail
NOTE: This is why IN CHRIST we can have "boldness to enter into the holiest by the
blood of Jesus, (OUR HIGH PRIEST Heb.2:17-18; 3:1; 4:14-16; 5:1-5; 6:20; 7:1-29; 9:1-28;
10:1-25)
F. Therefore, Grace and Truthdid NOT destroy the language (of the Law used by the Prophet Joel) Jesus,
The WORD made flesh FULFILLED the Law. (Matt.5:17-19) "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak
through the flesh, (Rom.3:20-23; 5:10-14) God sending[0] his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and
for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk
not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (John.1:17, Matt.5:17-19, Rom.3:21-31; 8:1-4)
G. Some say when the apostle Peter interprets(Joel.2:28-32)to be still FUTURE and not the day of Pentecost
(Acts.2:1-17)in the 1 st. Cent. / 5th day) and thelast of the last days. (Our present day)
1. They say, "How can Peter's day, (1st. Cent.) be the last of the last days?
a. There was no "wonders in heaven above," and no "signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and
vapour of smoke" or he sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great
and notable day of the Lord come." None of these things happened in Peter's day.
b. Was Peter mistaken? Of course not! Peter was writing under the inspiration of God
c. Later when he wrote his second Epistle he explained that the last days are the two 1000 year days
are from the Cross to the Second Coming. (Gen.2:17 / Gen.5:5, Psa.90:4, 2Peter.3:1-9, Rev.20:2-4)
(1) Joel.2:28-29 is the beginning of the 5th day of God's creative week
(2) Joel.2:30-32 is the end of the 6th day of God's creative week (Review: PHASE 3)
NOW let us apply what we just learned and interpret THE BOOK OF JOEL
..........
The Glory that is to follow is not the SECOND COMING because the Mystery of God must be FINISHED BEFORE JESUS CAN RETURN
Spoken to us (The Church)
Using this language
NOW apply all this language to the blueprint (chart opposite), THEN and match Church History to it.
(See PHASE 4,
Pages.3-11)
This will reveal how JESUS is building HIS CHURCH WITHOUT HANDS
(John.2:18-20, Mark.14:58,
Acts.7:47; 17, 24, Eph.1:4; 2:1-22; 3:1-12)
Corn, New Wine, Oil, Grain Harvest, Field, Meat and Drink Offering, Vine, Vine Dressers, Fig tree, Blow a Trump, Sound an Alarm, The Altar, Priests (The Feast of Pentecost and Tabernacles)
"Whom (meaning JESUS) the heaven must receive (retain / hold) until the times of restitution (restoration) of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
The Cross is the dividing line between the Old and New Testaments. It is the
CENTER OF God's REDEMPTIVE PLAN. The Old Covenant is the Schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, AFTERWHICH God's plan continues iin it FULLMENT! If you rejec t that confirmation /fulfillment THEN you are like the Galatains and have become removed from the Gosepel and have gone after another Jesus.
Through the CROSS by a NEW and LIVING WAY
(Heb.20)
New Testament
We are to walk in Christ fulfilling the Law
"the sufferings of Christ"
Christ is the CENTER PIECE of the WORD Of GOD. EVERYTHING from the beginning of the World is pointing to HIM.
(1Peter.1:18-20, Eph.1:4; 2:1-22; 3:1-12
The Cross is the "center-piece" of God's Redemptive Plan!
"He (JESUS) is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of
the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all
things he might have the preeminence." (Col.2:17-19)
NOTE: This chart is NOT to scale it is only the order of events
The order of events here are explained in PHASE 10
In this study, when we say The Law, I mean the Law that was given to Moses, (Deut.31:9-13, v.24-26) NOT what the Jews have added
and diminshed
(Oral Torah, Talmud,
Mishnah, Midrash,
Gemmra)

teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.(Matt.15:1-9)
See PHASE 10 and HOME PAGE for details concerning the last days
The preaching ofthe Cross
is foolishness to the natural man (1Cor.1:19-29; 2:1-14)
Grace gives you the blueprint to build as in the days of Noah
All scripture (From Genesis to Revelation) is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
(2Tim.3:16-17)
None of it is a
"dead letter"
It is a mistake
to say that Joel.2:28-32 are the only verses (in the Book of Joel) that prophecy about the Day of Pentecost
_________________
The language of the Feast of Harvest, Weeks, Pentecost is all through the context of that Book
________________
IN FACT
The language of the Feast of Tabernacles is also throughout the Book of Joel
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.Type your paragraph here.
