balance to (service) "to the Jew first." because they were the first ones to be given the Law in God's OVERALL PURPOSE. They were chosen by God to bring in the kingdom of God. God is Not a respecter of persons (race). Being first was a greater responsibility / accounterbility. To whom much is given, much is required. (Matt.25 "talents")

The Service of God
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
"I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen." (Rom.1:1-5)
I. What is mean't by the "service of God?"
A. It is the ministration of God, i.e. worship:—(divine) service.(Heb.9:1-10, Rom.9:1-5)Strong's NT#2999 / the
service and worship of God according to the requirements of the Levitical law (Exod.19-40, Lev.1-27, Num.3:38;
9;15-23, Rom.12:1-1, 1Cor.9:1-13, 1Peter.2:5)
1. The tribe of Levi was set apart to minster (serve) unto the Tabernacle. (Num.1:47-54, 1Peter.2:5-9)
a. Aaron (of the tribe of Levi) was set in the office of high priest who entered within the Vailonce a year
to make atonement for the Nation of Israel (The Church in the wilderness) (Exod.28:1-43, Lev.16:1-2,
Acts.7:38, Heb.2:17; 5:1-6; 7:1-28; 9:1-28; 10:1-25)
(1) There was ONLY one high priest (PHASE.4, Page.9 / Page.10 / Page.11 / Page.12. / Page.13)
(2) Only Aaron could enter before the Ark of the Covenant (Lev.16:1-44, Heb.2:17; 3:1; 4:14-16; 5:1-6
Heb.7:1-28; 8:1-5; 9:1-28; 10:1-25)
b. Aaron's sons were the Priesthoodthat offered the sacrifices[0]each day of the year
(Exod.28:1-43, Lev.1-5, Rom.12:1-2, Eph.5:1-2, Phil.4:18, Heb.13:15-16, 1Peter.2:5-9)
c. The remaining families of the tribe of Levi (the Levites) they were accountable for pitching (taking down
abd setting up) the "Tabernacle" (Num.1:47-54; 4:1-49; 9:15-23, Acts.7:38, 1Cor.12:13-18; 14:40)
II. The Service of God pertains (i.e.belongs) to Paul's kinsmen according to the flesh (the Israelites)
A. Why does the service of God pertain (belong to) to the Israelites?
1. Chiefly,[0] because...unto them (the Israelites) were committed (be put in trust with)[0]the "oracles
of God" to begood and faithful stewardsof The Law (Oracles) / The Word of God(Exod.19:1-6, Deut.17:18;
24:18, 31:9-13, 2Chron.15:3; 24:15, Neh.7:63-65; 8:2, 1Peter.2:5-9, Rom.3:1-3, Acts.7:38, 1Peter.4:11, 2Tim.2:15;
4:2)NOTE: Rom.10:19-21
a. Look at the example of Abraham's steward (servant) Eliezer of Damascus?
(1) Abram (Abraham Gen.17:5) committed "all that He had" to Eliezer" (Gen.15:2; 24:1-6,
1Cor.4:1-2)NOTE: Eliezer did NOT OWN "all that Abraham had"
(2) God "committed" (put in trust with) the "oracles"(Acts.3:1-2, Acts.7: 38) to "Israelites" first,[0]
because "God...remembered His covenant...and looked upon the children of Israel, and GOD
HAD RESPECT UNTO THEM. (Hosea.2:23,Matt.21:43-46, Acts.3:25-26, Rom.1:16; 2:9-10;
9:25; 9:1-5)The respect is because of God's covenant, not their person (i.e. Hebrews)
(Gen.4:1-4, Exod.2:23-25, Rom.1:17; 2:1-29, NOTE:.v10-11; 3:1-3)
(3) Eliezer)[0] (Abraham's steward) ruled "over all that he (Abraham) had" and the authority
to use it.(Gen.24:1-2) NOTE: And the servant (Eliezer Gen.15:2) took ten camels of the camels
of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose,
and went to find a Bride for his son Isaac (Gen.24:10)
To summarizethe thought of stewardship:God the Father (pictured by Abraham) owns the
"oracles" (The Law / Service of God) They are His divine design. He committed them (the Oracles)
into the hands of the Israelites (pictured by Eliezer) to be good and faithful stewards. However,
Paul's kinsmen / Israelites (Rom.9:1-5)took ownership and added and diminish the "Oracles"
(Deut.12:32, Prov.30:5, Matt.15:1-9 / Examples of "traditions" and "commandments of men"
Oral Torah, Talmud, Mishnah, Mishrac, Gemara. Other examples: "the Jews Passover"(Lev.23:1-3,
John.2:13, "the feast of the Jews" (John.5:1; 6:41; / Lev.23:1-3. My / Your House,(Mark.14:56-58,
1Cor.3:10-15, Eph.2:1-22, 1Peter.2:5), Matt.21:13; 23:1-39, Rom.2:1-29,v.23-24)I will build my house
without hands
NOTE: The Church at Laodicea said, we have "need of nothing" including (all that Jesus is[0]). They
had taken ownership. By the time that Jesus / Messiah "came unto His own" (The "Israelites" Paul's
"kinsmen according to the flesh") had taken ownership of the "Oracles" and rejected Christ as the
Messiah.
B. Who were the "Israelites?"
1. They were the children of Jacob (whose name was changed to "Israel" (Gen.33:28; 49:1-28, Rom.2:28-29;
9:6; 10:1, Gal.6:15-16, 2Cor.11:22, Phil.3:1-8 / Isa,64:6 )
2. Jacob (Israel) who had twelve sons (Gen.49:1-33) and was the son of Isaac (Gen.25:19-34, Gal.4:21-28,
Heb.11:17-19)
3. These twelve sons (of Jacob / Israel) multiplied and became a Nation / Nation of Israel
(Exod.19:1-6,1Peter.2:5-9)
4. Isaac was the son of Abraham (Gen.15:1-15 / 16:1-16; 17:18-20, Gal.4:21-28, Heb.11:17-19)
C. The service of God pertain (belong to) the Jew first and also to the Greek
1. Paul writes (Gal.1:11-12, 2Tim.3:16-17) NOTE: It is to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: for there is no
respect of persons with God."(Lev.19:16, Deut.10:7, Matt.22:16, Acts.10:34, Rom.2:10-11, Gal.2:6)
a. The time of the Gentiles had not come yet
b. NOTE: How there was provision made for the "stranger" (Gentile") until this time
c. God's "intent" (purpose) since the beginning (foundation of the world) to reconcile both the Jew and the
Gentile together as ONE NEW MAN (Gen.1:1, 1Peter.1:18-20, Eph.2:1-22; 3:1-13)
NOTE: The Law was given (committed) the Law to the Stewardship of the children of the flesh of
Abraham first becauseJesus (The Messiah) was not yet be revealed ("manifested")
2. Jesus (The Messiah) unto Hid own (The House of Judah / Jews) to "confirm" the covenant, fulfilling the Law
and the Prophets in Himself, who is the head of the Church the Body of Christ
2. To whom much is given, much is required. (Matt.25: Talents)
This "pertaining" is based on the Covenant God had made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Exod.2:24-25)
which was a continuation of God's foreordained purpose before the beginning of the world. (Gen.1:1-2,
Acts.3:21,1Peter.1:18-20, Eph.1:4; 2:1-22; 3:1-12, Rev.10:7; 11;15; 13:8; 17:8)
C. This "service" (ministry was to bring us to Christ(Exod.25-40, Lev.1-27, Gal.3:24, 1Peter.1:18-20)
1. This service / ministry was not intended to be exclusively for the Jews (The House of Judah) (Deut.18:15 /
Acts.3:22, 28:20-23, Matt.5:17-19, Rom.3:21-31)
a. NOTE: Concerning their Feast days. (Passover, Pentecost) God said, "these are my feasts' (Lev,.23:1-)
In the New Testament they are the feast of the Jews" (John.5:1; 6:4)
b. Concerning the Temple. Jesus said, "my House" at the end of His ministry He said, "YOUR HOUSE"
They had taken overownership over many generations with their "traditions" and commandments of
men" (Matt.15:9) by adding to and diminishing the Law of Moses. Look at these examples;
(1) The Oral Torah (written down) (2) The Talmud (3) The Mishnah (4) The Midrash (5) The Gemara
NOTE:This is why JESUS / MESSIAHsaid of His own (The JewsDan.9:25-26,
John.1:11; v.29-42) "they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do
they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, (Isaiah) which
saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall
see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their
ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they
should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand
with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them."(Isa.6:4;
29:13, Matt.13:10-15, Acts.28:25--27, Rom.10:19-21)
c. By the time thatMessiah "was made manifest", (Gen.3:15-16; 49:10[0] Dan.9:26,
1Peter.1:18-20) the House of Judah (the Jews) had added to, and diminished from[0] theLaw of Moses
and it became their Law. (Deut.12:32, Prov,30:5, Matt.15:1-9)
d. The Law (the service of God) is the Blueprint for the building of the Church "without hands"
(1) It Is the pattern of the true Tabernacle which the Lord pitched ("without hands") and not man.
(Deut.18:15, Matt.5:17-18, Acts.3:22, Rom.3:21-31, Heb.8:1-6; 9:1-28) NOTE: "Him shall you hear"
NOTE: Why is there a pattern? Because the New Testament is full of "BUILDING"(Matt.16:18,
Mark.14:58, 1Cor.3:10-15, Eph.2:20-22; 4:11-16; 5:25, 1Peter.2:5, Heb.11:8-10, As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the days of the coming of the Son of manGen.6:1-22; 7:1-4,Matt.24:36-37, Heb.11:7)
(b) The blood of bulls and goats and an heifer cannot take away sin. Christ's blood you are cut off from
the Church / judgment (Lev.17:11, Heb.10:1-31)
(c) If you reject the Brazen (Brass) Altar and offer offerings on another Altar/ judgment (Lev.17:11,
John.14:6, 1Peter.2:5 "by Him")
(c) If you reject the pattern of only Aaron could enter within the Vail / Judgment(Lev.16:, Heb.10:19-20)
Another Jesus (2Cor.1-7)
(d) If you reject the anointing and make "another like it" Oil / anointing (Exod.33:22-38, 2Cor.11:1-5,
Matt.24: Here is "Christ"Another spirit (2Cor.11:7, 1John.4:1-4)
(e) If you reject Don't make another frankencense "like it" (Exod.33:1-38)
(f) If you reject Don't offer meat and burnt offerings on the Golden Altar of incense (Exod.30:)
(g) If you reject Jesus (completed the shadow of high priest) and purchased (price) for our salvation
by entering the true Tabernacle / thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven
(h) If you rejectThe Holy Ghost "signifies" with the Tabernacle (Heb.9:7-8, 2Tim.3:16-17)
(i) If We are called Prieststo offer up spiritual sacrifices by Him (Jesus) 1Peter.2:5
2. The "service of God" was given to Paul's "kinsmen (Gen.35:17-19; 45:1-28, (v.17), Phil.3:5) according to
the flesh" (the Israelites), approx.500+ years before there was the House of Judah, Jews. (The the
descendants of the Jews.
that became their's exclusively like the Pharisee who PRAYED WITH HIMSELF and said, "i am not like the publican. This
service "pertained" to them because they were given it first which brings accountablity
NOTE: This "service" (ministry was to be a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ
The "service of God" was not intended to become exclusively for the Jews (Jewry). It was a "school
master to bring to to Christ "(Gal.3:24) "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things,
as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the
precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained
before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you. (1Peter.1:18-20)
was given to them (Paul's kinsmen after the flesh) to bring them to Christ who in 1500 years be manifested as the Lamb of God (1Peter.1:18-20)
2. Paul said, "this I confess...that after the way which they call heresy, so worship (i.e. minister (to God), i.e.
render religious homage [respect, honor, reverence]:—Trans. into KJV as serve, do the service) I the God of
my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets. (Acts.24:14)
a. .
b. .
c. .
1. In the beginning God created the Heaven and the earthaccording to His (foreordained) purpose
(Gen.1:1, John.1:1-4, 1John.5:7-8)
2. Created man (Adam and Eve) on the sixth day(Gen.1:26-31,Rom.5:14, 1Cor.15:45-46)
3. Sin entered the world (Gen.3:1-24, Rom.5:10-14)
4. "But God who is rich in mercy" (Eph.2:4)began to unfolding His Redemptive purposethat had been
"hid" in Himself from the beginning (foundation of the world 1Peter.1:18-20, Eph.2:1-11; 3:1-12) to bring
man back into His presence. (Gen.3:15)The "first mention" was the "coats of skin" provided from the
shed blood of a sacrificed animal) to covered their nakedness / sin. (Gen.2:25; 3:7, Exod.28: Heb.4:12-13,
Rev.3:17) according to His (foreordained) purpose / Covenant (Gen.12:1-2; 15:1-15; Exod.4:25)
III. What is the service of God?
A. The "service (ministry) of God"
1. Aaron and His Sons were to service the Tabernacle. (Num.1:47-54, Heb.9:1-29, 1Peter,2:5-9)
2. .
(because) "as concerning the flesh Christ came and fulfilled the Law and
the and the Prophets (Rom.3:1-2; 9:5, Matt.1:1-17, Phil.2:,)
A.
B. They were going to draw a blueprint (by their typical[0] actions in the Law)
told about the seed of the woman would crush the serpents head. (Gen.3:15-16)
B. The prophet Daniel
Service of God
