FOOTNOTES / Day of Atonement
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

[0]    Jesus opened the apostles understanding to the Law of Moses, and the prophets and i the Psalms
concerning Himself. There is is in two parts.
         (a)  Concerning His Resurrection
(Acts.3:18)
         (b)  Concerning the Glory
(1Peter.1:10-12) / Restoration that should follow (Acts.3:3:18-24)

[0]    Still binding on Christians - This statement needs to balanced out
         (a)  YES the Law has not been "destroyed" / It is "binding"
(Matt.5:17-19)
         (b)  The purpose of the Law was to expose sin and bring us to Christ
(John.3:16) "our High Priest" (Heb.3:1)
who fulfills the righteous of the Law.
(Rom.5:10-12; 7;1-00; 8:1-4)
                (1)  When we are
born again we become a NEW creature IN Christ "our High Priest (John.3:16,
                        2Cor.5:17-19, Heb.3:1)

                (2)  JESUS "redeemed us from the curse (penalty / judgment) of the law, being made a curse for us
                (3)  JESUS did not "destroy" the penalty of the Law, He paid the price to satisfy the penalty

                (4)  Jesus made a surety (co-signer) of a better testament. (Heb.6:15-20)
--And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of
                        death:
--But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
         (0)   But nobody can kept (or be justified) by the Law (Rom.3:1-31)
         (0)  The Book of Galatians deals with this issue
         (0)   These "Judaizer's" were missing (or ignoring / ignorant) what Christ (God manifest in the flesh

John.1:1-14, 1Tim.3:16) did at the Cross. (NOTE: Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that
confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:  And every spirit that confesseth not that
Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have
heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world."
(1John.2:18-20; 4:1-4)
