The number of the antichrist - 666

                  
 
The name is who you are!

God spoke "unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the Lord: And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them." (Exod.6:2-3) God was giving Moses a greater revelation of Himself. (His purpose, the way
He thinks, His provision and protection, leading)

1.  Other examples
     a.  It was the "fame...of the name of the Lord" went out to "all the earth." (1Kings.10:1, 24) 
           The "name" of the Lord represented (stood for, embodied / personified) everything that 
          was happening in the Glory of God that filled the Temple.
     b.  "From a very far country thy servants are come because of the name of the Lord thy   
          God: for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt, And all that he
          did to the two kings of the Amorites, that were beyond Jordan, to Sihon king of
          Heshbon, and to Og king of   
          Bashan, which was at Ashtaroth." (Josh.9:9-10)
      c.  Demons flee at the name of Jesus because the name is all that God is. (Mark.16:17, 
           1Tim.3:15-16) The demon said, "Jesus  I know and Paul I know, but who are you?"  
           (Acts.19:13-20)
    
          Note: The number of the beasts name (666) will carry the power, authority of the 
          dragon (Satan, serpent, devil - Rev.12:9) without that name (taking on that nature, 
          character and person) no one will be able to buy or sell. (Rev.13:16-18)

2.  The name means to character, who that person is
     The angel (Gabriel Luke.1:26) told Mary and Joseph to call Jesus, "Emmanuel, which being 
     interpreted is, God with us." (Matt.1:23-24) Jesus was "Deity," God manifest in the flesh. 
      (1Tim.3:16, John.17:5, Isa.42:8, John.1:1, 14; 5:17-18)
     a.  Adam gave names to "every living creature" which described what they were. (Gen.2:19-
            20) Eve was called "Woman, because she was taken out of man." (Gen.2:23)
     b.  Abram was changed to Abraham / Sarai was changed to Sarah because of the
          change to their person and who they would be. (Gen.17:1-16) 
     c.  Jacob was changed to "Israel" because changed him from a surplanter to a
          prince with God. (Gen.32:28)
     d.  Peter's name was changed from a stone (John.1:42) to a "rock." (Matt.16:18)
     e.  Saul was changed to Paul. (Acts.13:9)
     f.   We are given the family name "The Lord Jesus Christ" (Eph.3:14-15, Acts.2:36) that we
          might be "partakers of the "divine nature." (2Peter.1:1-4) 

3.  The number of the beast / antichrist / man of sin  is in three divisions
     A copy of the "Godhead" (the tri-unity of God the Father, Son (Word) and Holy Ghost (Spirit)
     This "man of sin" (antichrist / another Jesus / Word) is empowered by the dragon (Satan,   
     Serpent, Devil /  and assited by the false prophet. 


Number / name "666" is a counterfeit of the pattern of God

God told Moses that "in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee." (Exod.20:24-25) No name, no meeting!

1.  In the Old Testament pattern (Blueprint)
     a.  The Tabernacle had God's name recorded on it. (Exod.25:10-22, 1Chron.13:6)
      b.  God's name was recorded where the Offerings were made. (Exod.20:24, Lev.17:8-8)
      c.  God's name was recorded on the Tabernacle of David. (1Chron.13:6; 17:5)
      d.  God's name was recorded on the Temple. "But unto the place which the Lord your God   
          shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall 
          ye seek, and thither thou shalt come" (Deut.12:5-6, 1Chron.17:1-15; 22:1-19, 2Chron.2:1) 
     e.  God's name was recorded on the City of Jerusalem. (2Chron.6:6)
      f.   God's name was recorded on the "church in the wilderness." (Num.6:27, Acts.7:38, 
           1Cor.10:11, Rom.15:4)

2.  In the New Testament the Blueprint continues in it's fulfillment / reality
     Do all in the name.  Whatsoever ye "do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord  
     Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him." (Col.3:17-18)
     a.  Remember: Jesus said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets:
          I am not come to destroy, (the pattern / principle of the name being recorded) but to fulfil.
          For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise 
          pass  from the law, till all be fulfilled." (Matt.5:17-18)
     b.  Jesus said, " where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the   
          midst of them." (Matt.18:20)
     c.  For this cause "I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the   
          whole family in heaven and earth is named." (Eph.3:14-15, Num.6:27 / 1Cor.10:11)

          Note: There will be a counterfeit! For "many shall come in my name, saying, I am  
          Christ; and shall deceive many." (Matt.24:5-6) "Another Jesus" (2Cor.11:1-7)

            
3.  Today the Church is the Temple where God's name is recorded.
      After "this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; 
      and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: That the residue of men might 
      seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord,
      who doeth all  these things." (Acts.15:16-17; 11:26, Rev.2:13; 3:1 [Rev.1:18] )
      a.  His name is recorded on us in our Water Baptism. 
          Jesus said,"Go Baptize into the name (the authority and character) of the Father (Lord),  
          Son (Jesus) and the Holy Ghost (Christ) (Matt.28:19, Acts.2:38; 8:16; 10:48; 19:5) 
      b.  Name received at circumcision
          Water Baptism is a spiritual "circumcision made without hands, in the putting off the 
          body of the sins of the flesh."(Col.2:11-12, Rom.2:28-29) Separated unto God.(Rom.6:1-11)
          (1)  The child recieved his name at circumcision. (Luke.1:59 / Gen.21:1-3)   
          (2)  This is where we recieved the name (the authority and character) of The Lord Jesus 
                 Christ is recorded upon us / Temple (or recieved Rev.13:16)             

          Note: The antichrist will copy this same pattern. Taking his "mark" and the number of  
          his "name," name (the authority and character) will indentify them as sold out the the 
          beast. (antichrist) Something to ponder: Will he have a counterfeit Water Baptism????

4.  God's name is not recorded on an earthly Temple after the Cross
     But "Solomon built him an house. Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with 
     hands; as saith the prophet, Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will 
     ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? (Acts.7:47-49)
             
     a.  History of the Temple before the Cross
         (1)  Solomon built the first Temple. (2Chron.1-5)
         (2)  From Solomon until the Babylonian captivity the Temple was polulted and restored  
               many times because the House of Judah did not follow the Lord fully.
                  (2Chron.10-36)
          (3)  Jeremiah prophecied that they (The House of Judah) would go into a 70 year   
               Babyonlian captivity because of their disobedience to God's Word. (Jer.29:10, 
                 2Chron.36:21) Then they would be released.
        (4)  God was true to His and the House of Judah was released and restored the 
               city and the sanctuary. (Ezra.1 - Neh.13) However they did not attained to what
                 Solomon had. ("the former house"- Haggai.2:1-9)                  
        (5)  Then there was a 434 year wait until the Messiah, Jesus. (Dan.9:26) During this
               the Temple was burned, desolated, and cast down. (Dan.8:1-12, 19-25; 11:1-35)
                 
                 During this time there was no prophetic voice of God. (Malachi was the last 
               prophet to speak)  During this time the "Apocryha" and "Septuagint" were written
               and it was the beginning of the "synagogue." Their leaders were the Pharisee's and  
               Saduchcees.

                 Towards the end of this wait, Herod built the Temple back for the Jews and added 
               many new divisions that were not in the pattern that God gave David. (Compare: 
                 1Chron.22-29, 2Chron.1-5 with Herod's Temple) By this time the Temple was now   
               an "empty shell," God's presence was gone! (Read Ezk.10:10) 

     b. The transition from the Old Covenant to the New
         (1)  Now, Jesus the Messiah is revealed just as Daniel prophesied. (Dan.9:26,
                John.1:35-42; 4:25) He confirmed 3½ years of the seven year Covenant (Dan.9:27)  
                with "His own," (the Jews, i.e. the children of the flesh of Abraham Rom.9:1-8,
                   John.1:11) Part of this confirmation was that Jesus is now the true Temple (John.2:18-                   20) with God's name recorded upon Him. 
         (2)  The earthly Temple was to be left desolate.(Matt.23:36) Void of God's presence and  
                name. Jesus said, it was their house now!
           (3)  In 70 AD. the (earthly) Temple was destroyed, "not one stone left upon another."
                (Matt.23:38-39; 24:1-3) Now there is no earthly Temple and no Brazen Altar to offer
                animal sacrifice. (Note: Lev.17:8-9)
               
     c.  The onlyTemple after the Cross with God's name recorded on it is the Church
          (1)  The Holy Spirit of God calls the Church the Temple of God, (1Cor.6:19-20, 
                   Eph.2:20-22, 1Peter.2:5) where God's name has been recorded.. (Matt.28:19)
          (2)  Jesus is the true Brazen Altar. (Heb.13:10, 1Peter.2:5 "by Him") Jesus
                 "caused the sacrifice and oblation (offerings) to cease." (Dan.9:27)


The antichrist has no interest in a earthtly Temple

God's name is not recorded there! The apostles doctrine (Acts.2:42 "Paul") says, the "man
of sin" (2Thes.2:3) "opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God." (2Thes.2:4)
God's name is not recorded on animal sacrifices after the Cross. Under the Old Covenant God's name was recorded on the Temple / Altar / sacrifices, for the purpose of bring "us to Christ." (Gal.3:24) When Jesus came, He came to "confirm" and complete the pattern of the Temple / Altar / Sacrifice. Now there is no need for the an earthly Temple, Altar or sacrifice because the reality is here! (Note: Heb.9:1-26; 10:1-10)
     
All (no exceptions) to take to number of his name

The false prophet (Rev.13:11-18; 19:20) "causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six." (Rev.13:16-18)

1.  All those that are in the Tribulation must take the mark / name / number
     The false prophet (Rev.13:11-18; 19:20) had power to give life unto the image of the beast, 
     that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not 
     worship the image of the beast should be killed. And  he causeth all, both small and great, 
      rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads." 
      (Rev.13:15-16)
      a.  This is a counterfeit of the "command" from Jesus
            Go..."and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son,  
          and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have  
          commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." 
            (Matt.28:19-20)
     b.  A counterfeit redemption 
          And "he (the false prophet (Rev.13:11-18; 19:20) causeth all, both small and great, 
          rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads." 
          (Rev.13:15-16) 
          (1)  Look at God's pattern 
                 This they shall give, every one that passeth among them
                 that are numbered, half a shekel after the shekel of the 
                 sanctuary: (a shekel is twenty gerahs:) an half shekel  
                 shall be the offering of the Lord. Every one that passeth 
                 among them that are numbered, from twenty years old 
                 and above, shall give an offering unto the Lord. The rich
                  shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less
                 than half a shekel, when they give an offering unto the 
                 Lord, to make an atonement for your souls." (Exod.30:13-
                    16) The apostle Peter interprets the atonement money to  
                 be pointing to our redemption. (1Peter.1:18-20) 
          (2)  The antichrist is "another Jesus"
                 The apostle Paul says, it is possible to preach "another
                 Jesus...another spirit...(and)...another gospel: Which 
                 is not another." (Gal.1:6-7, 2Cor.11:1-4) while using all the 
                 same terminology          

                    Note: The apostle John wrote, you have "heard the   
                 antichrist shall come, (2Thes.2:1-4, Rev.13:1-18) but right now there are many 
                 antichrists. (1John.2:18-19) He wrote, the "spirit of antichrist" (1John.4:1-4) is now 
                 already in the world and is opposing and exalting  itself above "that is called God." 
                    (2Thes.2:4,7) This is why Paul told the Thessalonians, " let us not sleep, as do 
                 others, but let us watch and be sober. (balanced) 1Thes.5:6. 

      Between us today and the return of Jesus is deception!

The number of his name, 666 

1.  Some examples of numbers
     It is no coincidence that it is three numbers together. (666) Numbers in God's Word carry a 
     great significance. For example:
     a.  Two or Three carries the thought of being "established." (Gen.41:32, Deut.19:15,   
           Eccl.4:12, Matt18:16, 2Cor.13:1)
     b.  Four carries the thought of "this world." (Isa.11:12, Jer.49:36, Ezek.7:2)
     c.  Six is always in association with man. (Gen.1:26-31, Rev.13:18)
     d.  Seven carries the thought of "being compete / the end" (Gen.2:1-3, Josh.6:1-21, 
           Rev.10:7; 11:15)
     e.  Ten carries the thought of proving / testing / trials. (Gen.16:3, Num.14:22, Ruth.1:4, 
           Dan.1:12)
     
         There are many more examples throughout God's Word.

2.  The character / person of the antichrist's name
     This man of sin is totally given over to the dragon, Spirit, Soul and Body. That is the
     authority and  character of Satan himself. A copy of how Jesus was totally given over the will 
     of God the Father. All those that receive this "mark" will be as this man of sin is locked 
     in "established" (Spirit, Soul and Body) to the "things of Satan. No wonder Paul wrote, "that  
     your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord 
     Jesus Christ." (1Thes.5:23)

The apostle said, " I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ. (Phil.3:8-9, 1Cor.9:24)


Conclusion

This mark / or number of his name is a spirtual matter and not something that many have imagined. The spirit of this name / mark is in competion right now in the Church, as tares amongst the wheat which is growing together. (Matt.13:24-30, 36-43) 

    Be on alert, be watching and praying, (1Thes.5:6) let no man decieve you. 
        
I think the number 666 on card credits, computer chips, bar codes etc. is just a smoke screen, to take Christians focus away from the "spirit of antichrist" (1John.4:1-4) that is sowing (2Thes.2:7) tares in the Church while they sleep. (Matt.13:24-30, 36-43) Some example is in "Defective Offerings."
