The Feast of Pentecost adds to the calendar for the Bride of Christ This feast (also called the feast of "Harvest" Exod.23:16, and the feast of "Weeks" Exod.34:22) was celebrated 50 days after the Feast of Passover.(Lev.23:15-22) This was the third month in Israel's calendar. It was fulfilled on the "day of Pentecost" as the Feast of Harvest / Weeks was being celebrated. (Acts.2:1-17) Just as Passover was fulfilled on the same day (Matt.26:17, Mark.14:17, Luke.22:14, Matt.27:57-62) this Feast was also fulfilled on the same day. That is why "there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men out of every nation under heaven." (Acts.2:5) They were there to celebrate this Feast of Harvest / Weeks. (Exod.23:14-19, Deut.12:1-12; 16:16, 1Chron.17:1-15; 22:1-19)
This is God confirming that He will abide by His calendar (Blueprint) that was foreshadowed by the Church in the wilderness. "If we believe not. yet he abideth faithful: He cannot deny Himself." (2Tim.2:13, Num.23:19, Heb.6:13-18)

This Feast was 50 days after Passover
"And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete: Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the Lord."
(Lev 23:15-17) Note: The pattern (blueprint) is being fulfilled exactly
1. Jesus was crucified as our Passover
2. Jesus was buried (Unleavened Bread)
3. Jesus rose again as the Firstfruits from the grave and appeared to the disciples
4. Showed Himself alive for forty days. (Acts.1:3)
5. They were told to wait in Jerusalem "for the promise of the Father." (Acts.1:4, Luke.24:49)
6. This was a great harvest time. (Acts.2:41; 4:4; 5:14)

The Feast of Harvest / Weeks / Pentecost, foreshadows the Baptism in the Holy Spirit
The reason why The Feast of Harvest / Weeks foreshadows the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, is because "when the day of Pentecost (i.e. The Feast of Harvest / Weeks was fully come, 50 days after Passover) they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." (Acts 2:1-5) This is "the promise of the Father." (John.14:16)
1. The apostles (Acts.1:4) had no idea what was about to take place. All they had was a Word
from Jesus to "wait for the promise of the Father, that there would be another comforter.
(John.7:38-39; 14:16; 16:12-15) What they received was the Baptism (i.e. to immerse,
submerge; to make overwhelmed)1 in the Holy Ghost

2. These "devout Jews" were dwelling in Jerusalem because of their obedience to the Law of
Moses. They were looking for the Messiah, however their "heart (was) waxed gross, and their
ears (had) become dull of hearing." (Matt.13:10-17) They had no idea what was about to take
place. What the "devout Jews" witnessed was God pouring out His Spirit. (The Baptism - i.e. to
immerse, submerge; to make overwhelmed)1 in the Holy Ghost.
Conclusion: The Feast of Harvest / Weeks / Pentecost is the Baptism in the Holy Ghost,
which is the "promise of the Father."
This "is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel."
When Joel "spoke" he used the language of the feast of Pentecost and Tabernacles to speak
to us, the Church. (Acts.2:17, Joel.2:28, 1Peter.1:10-12, Col.2:16-17) Note the language of Joel. (Joel.2:23-28)

It should be noted: That there is no Biblical record of Joel's Word from God coming to pass
before the Cross. Therefore, all of Joel's language needs to be brought through the Cross into
the New Testament in it's reality. (Review: Phase 6 for the pattern for interpreting the Prophets)

(Review: The Bible is One Book)
1. Be "glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God" (2Sam.5:7, Psa.125:1,
Rom.9:23, 1Peter.2:6 / Eph.2:20-22, Heb.12:22) After the Cross, "Zion" is the Church.
2. He "hath given you the former rain (Deut.11:14, Lev.26:4, Hosea.6:3) moderately, and he
will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain." Joel.2:23 (This is the language of
the Feast of Pentecost, [i.e. The day of Pentecost] Harvest, or Weeks. Remember, Joel is
speaking to us using the typical language (1Cor.10:1-11, Rom.15:4) of the Old Covenant.
(1Peter.1:10-12)
a. God said, "My doctrine shall drop as the rain." (Deut.32:2, Isa.55:10) This responsibility
is given to the Holy Spirit who leads us into all truth. (John.16:13; 17:17)
b. Jesus likened water (river) to the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. (John.7:38-39, Titus.3:5)
c. The purpose of the rain was to "gather in" their corn... wine... oil," (Deut.11:14) which is
the purpose of the Spirit of God. To gather in the harvest. (John.6:44; 16:8)
d. The rain was so that the seed would yield it's fruit. (Deut.11:11-17) Paul says, I have planted.
(i.e. the seed of the Word - Matt.13:1-23, 1Peter.1:23) Apollos has watered (John.4:14,
2Peter.2:17) and God gave the increase. (1Cor.3:1-10, Deut.28:12)
e. God will come unto us as the former and latter rains. (Hosea.6:3)
f. Gods favor is as the rain. (Prov.16:15)
h. A false gift is like clouds and wind without rain. (Prov.25:14, Jude.1:12)
i. Rain righteousness unto you. (Hosea.10:12)
The rain foreshadows the out pouring of the Holy Ghost.

3. Note: Joel did not stop there. He continued to prophesy about a "latter rain." (Deut.11:4,
Zech.10:1, Joel 2:23) He "hath given you the former rain (Deut.11:14, Lev.26:4, Hosea.6:3)
moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter
rain in the first month " Joel.2:23 This rain was during the last great Feast, the Feast of
Tabernacles (also called, Booths - Neh.8:1-17 and ingathering - Exod.23:16; 34:22)
This "latter rain" is the out pouring of the Spirit in the last day
(Review: God's Redemptive Week, Phase 3) (James.5:7) in the first month.
a. Note: Tabernacles is still ahead of the Church because there is no record of the
Church experiencing the reality of this feast. There is a record of the Feast of Passover
being fulfilled, (1Cor.5:7-8) and the day of Pentecost fully coming, (Acts.2:1) but no place
in scripture where it says, "when the Feast of Tabernacles had fully come."
b. Now it can be understood why Peter, John. and the writer of Hebrews wrote it was the last
days during the time of the 1st. century. It has been the last 2 thousand year days (the 5th. and
6th. day) since the Cross. (Acts.2:17, Heb.1:1-2, 1Peter.1:20, 1John.2:18, 1Cor.7:29) It could
be said, we are in the last of the last days.

c. Now it can be understood why Peter said it was the last days when the Sun was not
darkened or the Moon turned to blood during the 1st century A.D.
d. Now it can be understood did not stop pouring out His Spirit after the death of the apostle
John because the 5th. and 6th. day are the "the last days." These days are designated by
God for the pouring out of His Spirit
____________________________________________________________________
4. And "the floors shall be full of wheat, (Exod.34:22, Deut.16:9-10; 24:19) This is also the
language of the Feast of Pentecost, Harvest, Weeks) This was the grain harvest.
a. The reality of the grain harvest is people
"Then saith he (Jesus) unto his disciples, The harvest (wheat) truly is plenteous, but the
labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers
into his harvest. (Matt 9:37-10:1; 13:30-39, Mark.4:29, Luke.10:2, John.4:35)
b. There was a great harvest of people in the 1st. century Church
"Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added
unto them about three thousand souls." (Acts 2:41-42) "and the number of the men was about
five thousand." (Acts 4:4-5) Then there were "multitudes." (Acts.5:14)
This Feast was a "new meat (food) offering."
"Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the Lord. Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the Lord. (Lev 23:16-18)
1. What is a "meat offering?"
The "meat" offering was a food (for man or beast), especially bread or grain (for making)1
When "any will offer a meat offering unto the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall
pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon: And he shall bring it to Aaron's sons the priests:
and he shall take thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the
frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering
made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord: (Lev 2:1-2)
2. This was "new" because this feast had leaven in it.
"Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine
flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the Lord." (Lev 23:17-18)
Leaven carries the thought of sinful wickedness of our flesh, our humanity. The old
unregenerate man.(Review: Unleavened Bread ) Previous to this God said. "No meat offering,
which ye shall bring unto the Lord, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any
honey, in any offering of the Lord made by fire." (Lev 2:11-12) This would seem to be
contradictory, however this feast was foreshadowing the 1st. century Church and all of their
conflicts and problems.
a. There was the leaven of Hypocrisy. (Luke.12:1, Gal.2:11-15)
b. There was the leaven of Legalism. (Gal.5:9, Acts.15:1-5)
c. There was the leaven of Pride or being puffed up. (1Cor.5:6)
d. There was the leaven of Malice and Wickedness. (1Cor.5:8)
e. There was the leaven of Doctrine. (Matt.16:6-12, Acts.23:1-8)
(Review: Phase 2 for details of this chart)
There were two wave loaves baked with leaven
"Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the Lord." (Lev 23:17-18) The typical model is foreshadowing the thought of the Jew and the Gentile would be brought together as "one new man" in Christ Jesus. (Eph.2:1-19) "As the new meal offering, the Jew and the Gentile come together in the new Covenant, receive a new name, and speak in new tongues and finally are brought to the new earth and the new Jerusalem with God making all things new."
( Kevin J. Conner - The Feasts of Israel, p.39)
1. This was God purpose "from the beginning of the world."
That "the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in
Christ by the gospel: (Eph 3:6-7) And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery,
which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus
Christ: (Eph 3:9-10) Note: Eph.2:1-19 Eph 3:9-10. To the intent (purpose) that now unto
the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold
wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our
Lord:" (Eph.3:1-12)

2. What happens to the Jews that reject Christ?
They "also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in
again. (Rom 11:23-24) Graffed into what? Graffed into the purpose the God has had from the
beginning of the world. (Note: The "olive tree" is God's purpose!) Review: Phase 5 for full
explanation.
.
The two wave loaves were holy unto the Lord.
"And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before the Lord, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the Lord for the priest." (Lev 23:20-21) As the Jew and the Gentile are made "one new man" in Christ Jesus, (Eph.2:1-19) we are made holy (1Peter.2:5-9) because of Christ righteousness that He gives us (2Cor.5:21) Look at the type and the reality of the "Church in the wilderness.
1. At Salvation we are "delivered...from the power of darkness" (Col.1:13) unleavened, holy,
as foreshadowed by Israel's deliverance from Egypt.(1) No "leaven" was to be found
in their houses. (Exod.12:1-15) The apostle Paul wrote, "let us keep the (reality of the) feast."
(1Cor.5:7-8, Col.2:16-17) Remain "holy" unleavened!
(The combination of the three patterns is established in Phase 2, 4, 8, 9, 11)
.
2. God's purpose is that we would remain unleavened and be separate and holy unto Him
(2Cor.5:17-21; 6:14-18, Rom.6:1-11) and not to "mingle" (to braid, intermix, to traffic) with
this world. (1John.2:16, Eph.5:11) As in (2) the "church in the wilderness" the 1st. century Church
did not remain separate and became "entangled" (2Tim.2:4) with the inhabitants of the Land,
rather than "driving them out." (Josh.23:13, Judges.2:1-3) They did not remain "unleavened."
(2Cor.5:7-8) God knew this would happen and that is why leaven was allowed in the "blueprint"
of the Feast of Pentecost. A study of the Book of Acts and the epistles clearly reveals the
"leaven" that was in the Church. (Review: The feast of Unleavened Bread)
Note: We know that the 1st. century only attained to the Tabernacle of David and failed to
enter into the fullness of the statue of Christ. (i.e. Solomon's Temple) Since the Reformation
(1517 A.D.) until our present time God has been leading (John.16:13-15, 1Cor.2:1-14) the
Church according to the same pattern. This includes the "leaven"
Therefore it should be no surprise that the Church has had conflict since the restoration of the
Feast of Pentecost. (1906 A.D.) Review: Phase 2
3. At present the Church is in the process of being presented
as a "chaste (clean, modest, perfect) virgin to Christ." (2Cor.11:1-3, Eph.5:21-33) i.e. removal
of all the "old leaven." (Note: There was no leaven in the Feast of Tabernacles, which the
Church is coming to)
No sevile (service, labor) work was to done
"And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations. (Lev 23:21-22)
1. This feast was a Sabbath day.
"Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the Lord, which
ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. Six days shall work be
done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work
therein: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings. (Lev 23:2-3)
2. There were other Sabbaths besides the Feast Sabbath's
a. A weekly Sabbath. (Exod.16:23-29; 20:10-11)
b. Every seventh year was a Sabbath year. (Lev.25:1-7)
c. Every fiftieth year was a Sabbath. (Lev.25:8-17)
3. These Sabbaths are a "shadow of things to come."
"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, (feast day)
or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the
body is of Christ. (Col 2:16-18) We are to still keep the Sabbath in it's fulfillment. (Note:
Matt.5:17-19) Jesus came not to destroy the Sabbath, but to "complete" the Sabbath. The Law
could not make "the comers thereunto perfect (complete)" because it only exposes sin. Only
Grace can take away sin.
a. The Pharisees thought they were justified before God because the kept the Sabbath day,
when the "Sabbath" was incomplete. It could not justify us before God. (Matt.12:1-14)
b. The "Sabbath" brings to Christ where we "ceased from
our our works." (Heb.4:1-11) The writer of Hebrews interprets entering into the reality of the
land to be the rest. (Remember: Solomon's Temple was the ultimate rest in the Land.
1Chron.17:1-15; 22:1-19)
.
c. The apostle Paul under the inspiration of God wrote, "One man esteemeth one day above
another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own
mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day,
to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks;
and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. (Rom 14:5-7)
If God was intending for the Church to keep Saturday as the Sabbath, why what He gives
us the option? The 1st. century Church met on the 1st. day of the week, which is Sunday.
(Acts.20:7, 1Cor.16:2)
Note: The Consequences just as serious as the Old Testament Sabbath. If we do not enter
into His rest, we get sick, have a nervous break down, become troubled and frustrated.
"For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep." (dead) (1Cor.11:30)
4. Being Baptized in the Holy Ghost - "No servile work"
The apostle Peter called it a "gift," i.e. a gratuity. (Acts.2:38) On the day of Pentecost the 120
in the upper room waited (tarried Luke.24:49, Acts.1:4) for the "promise of the Father." It was
completely out of their hands. Their only responsibility was to be obedient to the words of
Jesus and wait. They made nothing happen! "No servile work" to be done. It was the be a
rest, i.e. Sabbath.
a. Why did they wait?
They waited until "the day of Pentecost had "fully come." (Acts.1:4; 2:1) The day of
Pentecost was the actual Feast of Weeks, the feast fifty days after Passover. God was
building according to His "blueprint," His "ensample" (i.e. His type) from the Old Testament
scriptures. Some teach from this example (Luke.24:49, Acts.1:4) that one has to "tarry" for
the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, to become sanctified enough to be made worthy to recieve
the "gift" of the Holy Spirit. It is only Christ's righteousness (2Cor.5:21) that makes you worthy
to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is not your works or your efforts. It is completely
out of your hands.
- Our righteousness is "filthy rags."
"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;"
(Isa 64:6) There is "no good thing" i.e. in my flesh. (Rom.3:10-11, 23; 7:18)
- We don't earn anything from God.
The kingdom of God / Heaven (Matt.25:14-30, Rom.14:16-17) "is as a man...who
called His own servants, and delivered unto them His goods." The five wise were
rewarded for their faithfulness with what they were given. (Matt.25:14-30) They did
not earn their talents, these five talents were a "gift." (Note the words "receive" and
"given") Our Salvation is a "gift of God." (Eph.2:8, Rom.6:23)
- Jesus is the Baptiser
John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it
abode upon him. And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same
said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him,
the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost." (John 1:32-33; 14:15-16;
16:13-15)
b. Their waiting was a act of obedience
"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith,
and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my
works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and
tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? (James 2:17-20)
- Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon
the altar? (James 2:21-22)
- Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the
messengers, and had sent them out another way?
"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."
(James 2:25-26)
Pentecost was a confirmation of Christ's Resurrection
It was a confirmation that Jesus, "the sheaf of the firstfruits" (of the coming harvest / Pentecost) had been waved " (Lev.23:9-11, Heb.9:24) in the presence of God for us." A merciful and faithful High Priest (Heb.2:17) sitting at the right hand of God, (Eph.2:20, Acts.1:30) being true to His word (John 7:38-40, 2Tim.2:13) by sending "another comforter." (John.14:26) The Holy Spirit.
(Review: The Feast of Firstfruits)
.
1. Jesus said, "He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers
of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive:
for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) John 7:38-40
When the "day of Pentecost" came, the Holy Ghost was "given" confirming that Christ
had resurrected and was "glorified."
2. How was the Holy Ghost given?
Suddenly "there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the
house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire,
and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak
with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." (Acts 2:2-5)
a. Jesus said, "they shall speak with new tongues." (Mark.16:17)
b. At Samaria "they recieved the Holy Ghost." (Acts.8:5-22) Peter used the word "matter" (i.e.
utterance, something said, tidings Strong's)
c. When Saul was saved and water baptized, he was "filled with the Holy Ghost." (Acts.9:1-17)
Later he told the Corinthians, "I speak with tongues more than you all." (1Cor.14:18)
d. At the House of Cornielus the "gift of Holy Ghost" was poured out on them, "For they heard
them speak with tongues." (Acts.10:1-46) Note: The apostle Peter said that "God, which
knoweth the hearts, bare them (the House of Corneilus) witness, giving them the Holy Ghost,
even as he did unto us;" (Acts.2:1-4, 10:1-48, 15:8-9)
e. The "Holy Ghost came on them (the Church at Ephesus); and they spake with tongues, and
prophecsied." (Acts.19:1-6)
Therefore when someone speaks in tongues, it is a confirmation of their baptism in
the Holy Ghost, and that Jesus has resurrected and has been glorified. (John.7:38-40;
14:26, Atcs.2:1-4)
3. Some say that after the first century tongues ceased.
The scripture used to support this is 1Cor.13:9-12. "For we know in part, and we prophesy in
part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I
became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face
to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth
faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. (1 Cor 13:9-13)
Note: Many stop reading after verse 10, however the context is through verse 12. "Knowing in
part" is being a child and seeing through a glass darkly and "that which is perfect" is becoming
a man.
a. That which is "perfect"
Some say "that which is perfect" is the completed Bible. The context of 1Cor.13:9-12 is a
perfect man the same "perfect man" that the Church at Ephesus understood. (Eph.4:11-16)
The Greek word is, complete (in various applications of labor, growth, mental and moral
character, etc.)1 It has been translated into the KJV, full age, (Heb.5:14) man, perfect.
b. Face to face is to be in someone's presence.
- When Hagar fled from Sarai's face, she fled from her presence.(Gen.16:6)
- Jacob said "I have seen God face to face" referring to being in His presence. (Gen.32:30)
- When Jacob fled from the face of Esau, he was fleeing from his presence.(Gen.35:1)
- Joseph told his brother's that they would not see his face unless they brought
Benjamin with them. (Gen.43:3)
- Moses fled from the face of Pharoah. (Exod.2:15)
To summarize: When I become a perfect man, (i.e. "come in the unity of the faith, and of
the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the
fulness of Christ" Eph.4:13) I will put away childish things", (1Cor.3:1-15) and then I will see
"face to face." (Note: 1John.3:2) When the Church reaches maturity, "then" tongues,
knowledge and prophecy will cease. (Also review the beginning of this study. The "last days" are the last
two thousand year days)
Why maturity? It is because without maturity, the Church will be unequally yoked, (2Cor.6:14- 18) and causing God to deny Himself. (2Tim.2:13) Remember the purpose for becoming
like Him, is to be His Bride!
c. Also, this promise is to "as many as the Lord our God shall call."
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus
Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise
is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord
our God shall call. (Acts.2:38-39) The question is, "Has God stopped calling?" Of course
not! (2Peter.3:8-9, John.3:16) Neither has His promise of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost.
d. Some say, "When I was saved I received the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Yes, you did received the Holy Spirit when you were "born"3 of the Spirit, (John.3:1-6) as the
disciples did after Christ's resurrection. (John.20:19-23) However, as these same born
again disciples (John.20:19-23, Luke.24:1-49, Acts.1:1-4) were told to wait and recieve
the "promise of the Father."(i.e. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit) John.14:26, Luke.24:49,
Acts.1:1-4
- At salvation we are "born of the Spirit"
We "were dead in sin" before Salvation, (Eph.2:1-2) and the only way back into the
"family" (Eph.3:14-15) or "household" (Eph.2:19) of God is to be born into it. "Not of
corruptible seed, (John.1:13, Rom.5:12) but of incorruptible, by the word of God,"
(1 Peter.1:23-24) At Salvation, we become "babes in Christ," (1Cor.3:1, 1Pet.2:2,
Heb.5:14) a new creation. (2Cor.5:17)
- At our Holy Spirit Baptism
At our Holy Spirit Baptism we become imersed, submered, overwhlemed with the
anointing of the Spirit of God. This is completely different than being "born of the
Spirit." The Greek word for "baptism" is the same for Water Baptism and Holy Spirit
Baptism. When Aaron was anointed with the holy anointment oil, (the Holy Spirit) it
covered his entire body. (Psalm.133:1-3)
Being "born of the Spirit" and "baptized in the Spirit" are not the same.
(Acts.8:5-17; 9:1-19; 10:1-48; 19:1-6)
- On the day of Pentecost
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as
many as the Lord our God shall call. (Acts 2:38-40) They were saved, water baptized
and filled with the Holy Ghost all on the same day. (Acts.2:38-39) Three distinct steps.
- At Samaria.
"Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the
people with one accord gave heed (they were saved, born of the Spirit) unto those things
which Philip spake." (Acts.8:5-17) "Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem
heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy
Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name
of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
(Acts 8:14-18) Three distinct steps.
- The apostle Paul.
"And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him
said, Brother Saul, (Saved, born of the Spirit) the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto
thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and
be filled with the Holy Ghost. And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been
scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized." (Acts 9:17-18)
Three distinct steps.
- The house of Corneilus
They "believed" (were saved, born again Acts.15:8) and "while Peter yet spake these
words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word...For they heard them speak
with tongues, and magnify God...And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of
the Lord." (Acts 10:44-48) Three distinct steps.
- Certain disciples at Ephesus
"He (Paul) said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? (Acts 19:2)
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul
had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues,
and prophesied." (Acts 19:5-7) Three distinct steps.
e. Some do not see the difference between speaking in togues and the gift of tongues
The apostle Paul says there are "tongues of men, of angels" (1Cor.13:1) and "unknown
tongues." (1Cor.14:4) Also there is "divers kinds of tongues" and the interpretation of those
tongues. (1Cor.12:10) Not all speak with the gift of "divers of tongues." (1Cor.12:29)

g. The "blueprint" confirms three steps.
.
Pentecost (Mt. Sinai) was not the end of the journey
There was a "land" to posses. (Gen.12:1; 15:1-21, Note: v.13 / Exod.1-12, Deut.12:1-12, 1Chron.17:1-15; 22:1-19) The same is true for the reality of this pattern, the New Testament Church. Our Holy Spirit Baptism is only part of the journey. There is a "land" (i.e. maturity, the Feast of Tabernacles) to posses in order to be married to Christ. (Eph.4:11-13, 1Cor.13:9-12)
Note: Before beginning this study of maturity in Christ, Phase 10 (Eschatology One) must be completed in order to understand where the Feast of Tabernacles is placed in the order of events in the last days.
