The Ark of the Covenant going 2,000 cubits before Israel

The "Ark of the Covenant" (Josh.3:1-6) is a shadow (model, type, picture, example, blueprint) of what Jesus is to the Church today. As the priests carried the Ark ahead of the "Church in the wilderness"(Acts.7:38, 1Cor.10:11) 2000 cubits, Jesus has gone ahead of the Church 2000 years, waiting (Acts.3:19-21, Rev.10:7) in the midst of the Jordan for the "complete collection"1  of all the people of God at His Second Coming.

1.
What was the Ark of the Covenant?
The Ark of the Covenant  belonged in the Most Holy place
      of the
Tabernacle of Moses. This was where God met with
      Moses. (Exod.25:10-22)
This was  where God gave
commandment for all things concerning the "Church in the
      wilderness." (Israel
Acts.7:38)
     a. Description
It was two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half
wide, and a cubit and a  half high.
(Exod.25:10) A Cubit
           is
approx.18." It was made of shittim wood and
           overlaid with gold.
(Exod.25:11) It had a lid called the
           "mercy seat."
(Exod.25:20) The mercy seat was
covered by two cherubims that stretched forth their
           wings.
(Exod.25:20- 22) The Ark had four rings with
           four staves for traveling.
Exod.25:12-15; 30:4, Num.7:9,
            1Chron.15:14)
    b. The Ark belong in the Most Holy Place

2.
Why the Ark of the Covenant is a "ensample" (type) of Christ.

After Jesus resurrected, He appeared unto the disciples "speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God"
      (Acts.1:3)
and opened their understanding to the Law of Moses.
(Luke.24:1-45, Acts.1:3)
      a. The Center piece of the Law of Moses

Jesus completed (fulfilled)
the pattern of the Tabernacle which included the Ark. He did not destroy
           it!
(Matt.5:17-19) Neither did any of the apostles.
(Rom.3:21-31, Heb.8;1-5; 9:1-26: 10:1-10) because it is an
           example and shadow of "
heaven itself." (Heb.8:1-5; 9:24)
      b. The Ark was the only meeting place (Exod.25:10-22)
The Lord Jesus Christ is the only meeting place with God in the New Covenant.
 (1Tim.2:5, John.14:6, Acts.4:12)
     c. The word "mercy seat" means propitiation
Christ is the fulfillment (completion) of the mercy seat. He is our "propitiation," i.e. mercy seat. (1John.2:2,
             Rom.3:25, Heb.9:5)
The blood of Jesus is the only place of atonement in the true Tabernacle, just as the
blood stained mercy seat was the place of atonement in the "model" of the Tabernacle of Moses.

(Lev.16, Heb.9-10)
     e. The Ark lead Israel (The Church in the wilderness)
           Jesus has been leading
(John.16:12-15, 1Cor.2:9-14) the Church on a journey, just as
the Ark lead
           Israel
(Num.9:15-23; 10:1-36)

3. Jericho being defeated
This is a model (type, picture, shadow) of the kingdoms of this world becoming the kingdoms of our Lord and of His
      Christ. (
Rev.11:15, Josh.6:1-26, v.20)

Noah and the 120 years
The number 120 has significance to us today, because "as it was in the days of No'e (Noah), so shall it be also in
the days of the Son of man."
(Luke.17:26, Matt.24:37)

1. The number 120 in scripture
      a. The "end of all flesh"
           Whenever the number
120 is used in scripture, it is always associated with the end of all flesh.
           (1)  The end of man's days in Noah's time

And "the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall
be an hundred and twenty years.
" (Gen.6:3-4) Note: "the end of all flesh is come before me." (Gen.6:13)
           (2)  Moses lived for 120 years before his flesh ended

So "Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord.
And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Beth-peor: but no man knoweth of his
sepulchre unto this day. And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not
dim, nor his natural force abated." (
Deut.34:5-7)
           (3)  One hundred and twenty priests sounding trumpets
When Solomon's Temple was dedicated there were 120 priests sounding with trumpets, and flesh could
not stand in the presence of God's Glory. (2Chron.5:13-14)
            (4)
On the day of Pentecost there were 120 in the upper room.
Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an
                  hundred and twenty,)
(Acts.1:15) This was where the flesh was ended and the anointing took control.
      b. Now add the context of the days of Noah
It is speaking of the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. The destruction of all flesh.
(Matt.24:36-41,
             2Peter.3:1-3 (Note.v5-7)
This was to usher in a new world free from the corruption of the old world. The ultimate
fulfillment of the "Year of Jubilee" that the "Church in the wilderness" was to celebrate every 50 years.

             (Lev.25:1-55)

c. Now multiply 120 (the end of all flesh) and 50 (the year of Jubilee), it equals 6,000.
This would compare with the six Redemptive
(1000) days that God has been working to free \man from
           sin and corruption.

Why
didn't Jesus return at the end of the 6th.day (2000 AD)
The reason is because
no man knows the day or the hour when Jesus will return. (Matt.24:36)
This includes this study. However, this study does reveal to urgency of the time and season. Jesus said, "occupy ( to busy one's self, i.e. to trade)  until I come." (Luke.19:13)  Besides, nobody knows if this is really the year 2011 because our calendars are not correct. Even if our calendar was correct, it is still a waste of time calculating the day or the hour because Jesus said, nobody knows except the Father.(Matt.24:36)

1. God did not tell Noah the exact time of the flood
All He told Noah that the end of all flesh has come up before Him, and He would destroy the earth.(Gen.6:1-13)
      a. His job was to build according to the pattern
Noah's job was to "occupy" (busy himself Luke.19:13) by building an Ark according to the pattern. (Gen.6:14-22)
      b. Today we the pattern
As it was in Noah's day, the same is true today. We do not know the exact time of the Second Coming,
but we do have the pattern (blueprint) of God's Word to build by. (Matt.24:37-38,
1Cor.3:13-15)

This 12 Phase series is the blueprint for building your Ark, to preserve you in
         these last days.
(The 5th. and 6th. days)

2. Noah did know the destruction was coming.
      We do know
that Jesus is returning. (Matt.24:36-39, Luke.17:26-30) God's Word to all of us that have "found grace
in the eyes of the Lord"(Eph.2:8, 1Peter.5:5-6) is that Jesus will return and "execute judgment upon all...that are
     ungodly..."
(Jude.1:15, Gen.6:8-13)

3. We will know when to get on the Ark!
The apostle Paul told the Thessalonians "that that  day should not overtake you as a thief. Ye are all children of the
light, and children of the day"
(1Thes.5:4-9)  The reason that Noah knew when to get on the Ark is because he was
     not "asleep"(1Thes.5:6) but
building according to the pattern that God gave to him. There was nothing left for his
imagination. Noah could see because he built according to the pattern, that it was about time to get on the Ark. This
pattern developed a "hearing ear" for the voice of God.
 (Gen.7:1, Matt.13:10-17, Rev.2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6, 13, 22)

4. Noah, his family and the animals were safely in the Ark before the destruction came.
     The apostle Paul writes, "
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are
all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Therefore let us not sleep,
as do others; but let us watch and be sober."(
1Thes.5:4-7)
     a.
This is an important point!
          Noah would have suffered "loss"(1Cor.3:10-15)
if he would have focus on the destruction and ignored the pattern
to build and Ark. There are many today that are focusing on the "day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men"
and ignoring the pattern to build, thinking that in a "twinkling of an eye" their Ark will be built.

Now is the time for preparation and building according to the pattern, as Noah did.

     b. Think on this!
The thing that Noah built, was the thing that preserved him and his family!
How many of God's people that have
"found Grace in the eyes of the Lord" are,
"By faith" preparing according to the pattern. (Heb.11:7) How many are
allowing themselves to be "warned of God. How many are
allowing the Spirit of God to lead them into "things not
          as seen yet"
(1Cor.2:1-14,  John.16:12)
How many "fear" God's word.

Noah's life depended on building the Ark.  What are you depending on?
(1Cor.3:10-15)

As it was in the days of Noah, "the heavens and the earth, which are NOW by the same word
          are kept in  store
(2Peter.3:1-7) for the Second  Coming of Christ.

Conclusion
This Phase 3 gives a time framework, and is not intended to predict the day or the hour of Christ's return. It is intended to present a picture of the urgency of the hour3 (2Peter.3:1-9)
and to emphasis the building and completion of the Church, the Bride (Ark) before the Second Coming.

Now to Phase 4

Notes
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

1.  When
Jesus returns it will be "a complete collection" (Greek - 2Thes.2:1. "Gathering")  It will the dead in Christ and those that are alive and remain. (1Thes.4:13-18)

2. God always teaches "line upon line, here a little and there a little." (Isa.28:9-11) He goes from Glory to Glory. (2Cor.3:1-18) We are admonished to add to our faith, (2Peter.1:1-9) and to "grow up into Him" (Eph.4:15)

3. With a day before the Lord as a 1000 years, an hour would be approximately 40 years.
I AM NOT SAYING that we have 40 years left. What I am saying is that the building is near completion.
