This series is designed to follow "line upon line"
(Isa.9-10)
As you begin with Phase One and systematically study each phase until the Conclusion, you will see a great Master plan (i.e. blueprint)
that the Spirit of God (2Tim.3:16-17) has "sketched out" for us in the Old Testament "ensamples." (types, shadows 1Cor.10:11) When
this
                  Great Master Plan
is studied and compared with Church History, we can see where the Church have come from, where the Church is now
                  and where the Church going.

Earthquakes in the last days

There are many of Christians excited about the many earthquakes that have been occuring in the last severval years, because this means that "that the day of Christ is at hand." (2Thes.2:1-2) However, Jesus said that "the end is not yet...these are the beginning of sorrows." This is what the Thessalonian Church was thinking also in the 1st Century, and Paul had to correct this with a second letter / epistle. He began the same way as Jesus! (Matt.24:4, 2Thes.2:3)

1.  Let no man decieve you about the return of Jesus
Now "we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering
     together (1Thes.4:13-18) unto him,
That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither
by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
     a.  Jesus: "Let no man decieve you"
     b.  Paul: "Let no man  deceive you by any means..." (Radio, T.V., CD, DVD, Magazine, etc.
(2Thes.2:1-3) The same thing, because Jesus taught Paul directly. (Gal.1:11-12)
          (1)  Shakened in mind

The mind is the battleground. We have been created "spirit...soul and body."(1Thes.5:23)
In "the image of (a tri-une) God. Father, Son (the Word) and Holy Ghost. (the Spirit)
                  (Gen.1:26-27, John.1:1, 14, 1John.5:8)
                 (a)  Spirit - Born again by the Holy Spirit. (John.3:1-6)
                 (b)  Soul (our mind, will and emotions) - This is being renewed by filling your mind
with  the Word of God. This is the battleground, this is the wrestling. This
is where  the vain imaginations comes from.
(Rom.12:1-2, 2Cor.10:4)
Note: The Thessalonians did not "search the scriptures daily," (Acts.17:11)
they did not fill their mind with the Word of God
and were shaken!

                 (c)  Body (Changed to immortality when Jesus returns.- 1Cor.15:51-52)
          (2)  Be troubled
                 (a)  By spirit - Try the spirits. (1John.4:1-4)
                 (b)  By word - Timothy was to "preach the Word." (2Tim.4:2) Be careful "how" you hear
and "what" you hear. () It was what Lot heard that "vexed his righteous soul from day
                        to day."
(2Peter.2:8)
                 (c)  Letter (epistle) from us - Bible translation

2.  Paul told the Thessalonians, there is an order of events before Jesus returns

Now" we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering
     together unto him,
That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by
word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand."
(
2Thes.2:1-3) There is a order!
     a.  Note the order
           (1)  That day shall not come, except there come a falling away first. (2Thes.2:3)
           (2)  Then that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. (2Thes.2:3)
                  (a)
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is
                         worshipped. (2Thes.2:3)
                  (b)  As God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that his God.
(2Thes.2:3)

           (3)  After his time, Jesus destroys him with the brightness of His Coming. (2Thes.2:8-9)
     b.  Paul: Don't you remember that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
           (1)  Paul was first with them at Thessalionica. (Acts.17:1-11) This was when told them these
events precceding the return of Jesus.
(2Thes.2:1-5)
                  (a)  That day shall not come, except there come a falling away first. (2Thes.2:3)
                  (b)  Then that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. (2Thes.2:3)
                  (c)  After his time, then Jesus destroys him.
(2Thes.2:8-9)
           (2)  After his first visit he wrote the first epistle (letter) to them, and reminded them that "
if we
believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God
                 bring with him. (1Thes.4:13-18)
                 (a)
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain
unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

Note: The Thessalonians were told by Paul when he was with them (2Thes.2:5)
that "coming of the Lord" was after the falling away and the man of sin being
revealed in his time. (2Thes.2:1-4, 8 / Rev.13:5) Somehow they forgot!

                 (b)
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout

Note: The Thessalonians also knew that "the Lord" ascending with out
                        shout
was after the man of sin (antichrist) had completed his time. (Rev.13:5)
They must have forgotten that also!

                 (c)  With the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ
                        shall rise first:
                 (d)
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the
clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
                         (1Thes.4:14-18)

3.  Earthquakes
are a sign of the times, but not the end

     a.  Because Jesus said so. (Matt.24:6-8)

b.  Confirmed by the apostle Paul. (2Thes.2:1-9)

Just as the children of Israel were protected in the plagues that were sent
through the land of Egypt. The Church will be protected in the trouble ahead.

4.   Last day events still ahead of the Church
