Daniel's Visions (Phase 5 of 12) Page 2 of 5
(The "little horn" of Daniel 7:25)
First a review of what Daniel is seeing

Daniel is seeing a vision of the Gentile Nations from Babylon, to Media-Persia, to Greece (Dan.2:1-9, 31-45; 8 :1-27) and reaching over to the last day kingdoms and to Second Coming. This period of time is called "the times of the Gentiles"1 (Nations, Heathens, those that are "aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world." Eph.2:12)

The City of Jerusalem happened to be in the "traffic pattern" (so-to-speak) and God was
warning the people of God to be ready, and on alert. (Dan.8:1-27) A "heads up, if you will."
(Some center on the kingdoms of this world as though they are the main theme of end-times.)
End-times is about the Church being the Bride if Christ, not the antichrist and his rule.

Now to Dan.7:1-28 / The first beast was like a lion (Babylon)

Daniel said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.
(Dan.7:1-2)

1.  The Lion had eagle's wings.
Daniel said, "I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked.
(Dan.7:4) Nebuchadnezzar's hair grew "like eagles
feathers." (Dan.4:28-37, note: v.33) and was

humbled (Plucked) because of pride.
     (Dan.4:34-37)

2.  The Lion is lifted up from the earth.
It "was made stand upon the feet as a man, and a
man's heart was given to it. (Dan.7:4, 34-37) After
being humbled by God, Nebuchadnezzar was
placed back as king with the understanding that
God "doeth according to His will...and none can
     stay His hand..." (Dan.4:35)

Another beast, a second like to
a bear (Media-Persia)

"And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
(Dan.7:5)

1.  The Bear raised up itself on one side.
It had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth
of it. (Dan.7:5) This matches chapter eleven verse
two that says, "there shall stand up yet three kings
     in Persia" (Dan.11:2)

2.  The Bear raised up itself on one side.

Chapter eleven verse two says there would be a
"fourth" king "far richer than they all." (Dan.11:2)
This  caused the Bear to be "raised up on one side." (Dan.7:5)

Note: Because all of Daniel's Visions overlay each other, it further confirms the identification of these kingdoms.
     (
i.e. Babylon, then Media-Persia, then Greece, then Rome and all the way to the last day kingdoms)

Another beast like a leopard (Greece)

After this "I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl;
the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. The Leopard had upon the back of it four wings...also four heads. These are the four Generals that divided up the kingdom of Greece after Alexander's death. (Review: Dan.8:1-27)

Behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible (Rome)

After this "I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns."
(Dan.7:7-8)

1.  Had great iron teeth.

This is the "legs of iron" of Nebuchadnezzar's image.
     (Dan.2:33, 40)
Daniel said the fourth kingdom will be as
strong as iron. (History reveals this to be Rome)

2.  Devoured and brake in pieces and stamped

Note the thought of "stamping" and the "feet" of  the image of
     Nebuchadnezzar's dream (Dan.2:40)

     ___________________________________________

The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom on earth
"Shall devour the whole earth"
According to the Word of God, there has been a Roman
connection from the 1st. century until our present day.
This is confirmed by the toes of iron, which are the ten last
day kingdoms. (Review: Samson and Church History)

(Note: Especially in the area of our modern translations and Bible manuscripts)
                                     (Review: Phase 1, page 1 of 2)

Note: There is a "gap" (or a period of time) between Rome (The Fourth kingdom on the earth
Dan.7:23) and the ten last day kingdoms which is illustrated by the two legs of Nebuchadnezzar's
image. This is where the Church, God's Eternal Church is being built

Why did Daniel only see the "fourth kingdom upon the earth" (Dan.7:23) and not the other
     kingdoms

during this period of time?

The reason is because the purpose of this vision was to warning the people of God of the
coming destruction that this "fourth kingdom" (Rome) would do to the Church. (Dan.2:40)
Not only did Rome persecution the Church and destroy the Jews Temple 70 AD., but it joined the
Church under Constantine and destroyed it from the inside out. This dominance continued down
into the "dark ages" until the 15th century and the Reformation. (1517 AD.) Since this time God
has been restoring His Church. However in 1881 AD. the influence of the "fourth kingdom"
(Rome) was again used to "brake and bruise" God's Church by corrupting the Word of God.

(Review: Church History and Romes influence upon the Church unto our present day. Phase 2, p.1-4)

3.  The fourth beast had ten horns
     T
he ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise. (Dan 7:17, 24) This are the ten
     toes of Nebuchadnezzar's Image.
(Dan.2:41-25)
The apostle John saw these kings in the last
     days. (Rev.12:3; 13:1; 17:3, 7, 12, 16
)

The "little horn" (Dan.7:25)

"I considered the horns, (i.e. the ten horns on the fourth beast) and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.(Dan.7:8) He shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. (Dan 7:24-26)

1.  Key thought: "Time, times and dividing of time." (3½)
     a.  This conclusively places this "little horn" as the antichrist, in the same period of time
          (Rev.11:1-3; 12:6, 14; 13:1-5)
     b.  The same purpose. To wear out the saints. (Dan.7:25, Rev.13:1-5; )

c.   Also, he arises out of the ten horns, (Dan.7:24-26) ten last day kingdoms, (Dan.2:41)
the ten toes, the last days.

2.  This "little horn" of Daniel chapter seven (Dan.7:24-26) is different that the "little horn" of
Daniel chapter eight (Dan.8:9-12, 22-25) because their purpose is different. The purpose
of the "little horn" of  chapter seven is to "wear of the saints," while the purpose of the "little
horn" of chapter eight is to take away the daily sacrifice and destroy a natural (earthly) Temple.
     a.  Furthermore, chapter seven mentions nothing of animal sacrifices or a natural (earthly)
          Temple neither does
the Book of Revelation. This is because Jesus stopped the "sacrifice
and oblation to cease," (Dan.9:27, Gal.3:17, Heb.9:1-26; 10:1-10) when He redeemed us
with His shed blood. (1Peter.1:18-20, Col.1:14)

     b.  Besides, the antichrist is going to oppose himself against all that is called God
(2Thes.2:4) and God's name is not recorded2 on animal sacrifice or an earthly
Temple anymore. They were "a figure for the time them present...until the reformation,"
or the time that Christ came.
(Heb.9:9-1)

These four kings "shall arise out of the earth."

Note: Why would Daniel during the reign of Babylon, (Dan.7:1) prophecy that Babylon (head of Gold / Lion),  "shall arise," as well as Media-Persia (Breasts and arms / Bear), Greece (Belly and thighs), Rome (The beasts that was  dreadful, terrible and strong exceedingly) (Dan.7:17) The answer is found in Nebuchadnezzar's dreamed, (Dan.2:31-45) and in the identification marks
of the beast / antichrist.
(Rev.13:1-2)

1.  Nebuchadnezzar's dream. (Dan.2:31-45)
The "stone" (The Second Coming) would "brake in pieces the iron, (Rome) the brass,(Greece
the clay,(the seed of men) the silver (Media-Persia) and the gold.(Babylon)" (Dan.2:45) All of
these kingdoms (or the characteristics, principles) have to be present in the antichrist (Little
Horn) in order for Jesus to destroy them. (2Thes.2:8-9, Rev.19:11-21)

Therefore there will be a restoring of these systems. in the last days.

     b.  The identification marks of the antichrist
The beast (antichrist, the "little horn" Dan.7:25) "was like a leopard (Greece, Belly and
           thighs of Brass
),
and his feet as the feet of a bear (Media-Persia, Breasts and arms of
           silver
) and his mouth as the mouth of a Lion (
Babylon, The Head of Gold) The antichrist
will incorporate all these systems together and "make war with the saints."
(Rev.13:7)
           i.e. "wear out the saints"
(Dan.7:25)
for time, times and the dividing of time. (Rev.13:5)

Note: The antichrist is NOT just a political leader, he is also fallen ministry, like that of
Judas, that apostates (falls) from inside the Church. (Review: Phase 12, page.4)

Jesus, "the stone cut out of the mountain without hands will destroy the antichrist (man of sin, the beast) (Review: Phase 5, page 1 of 2)

This is the same Eschatology3 as the apostle Paul who
has Jesus returning one time, at the end of the Tribulation and destroying the antichrist. Note: All of Daniel's prophetic visions of the last days has Jesus coming once, not as a "two stage" coming as the Pre-Tribulation Rapture doctrine teaches. (Review" "What about the Rapture?")

2. God requires His name to be recorded BEFORE He meets with you. (Exod.20:24, Deut/12:5, 11; 14:23; 16:2, 6, 1King.8:19, 1 Chron.13:6,
2Chron.2:1) The NAME is recorded on us at Water Baptism. (Matt.28:19) and now we are do all things in the "Name. (Col.3:17)
