The pattern reveals a price to pay ahead of the Church
(Continued from page 1) When David selected the building site for the Temple, "Ornan said unto David, Take it to thee, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes: lo, I give thee the oxen also for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meat offering; I give it all. And king David said to Ornan, Nay; but I will verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take that which is thine for the Lord, nor offer burnt offerings without cost."
(1 Chron 21:23-24)
.
1. David had the authority and the power to take the building site for nothing Instead of taking the land from Ornan at no price, he paid full price. (1Chron.21:18-27) His
actions were prophetic. The building site, typifies the beginning of the Church being presented
as "a chaste virgin," (2Cor.11:1-3) a Glorious Church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such
thing; but that it should be "holy and without blemish." (Eph 5:27-28) Review: Phase 2 a. Today, we have the power to accept (i.e. "hear what the Spirit is saying unto the Church
Rev.2:7, 17, 29: 3:6, 13, 22) or reject God's Spirit.
(1) The Holy Spirit will "guide" you, not push you. (John.16:12-15) God wants it to be your
choice, your freewill.
(2) Paul says, "I beseech (invite) you..." (Rom.12:1) It is your decision.
(3) "Not that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers..." (2Cor.1:24)
Note: Don't mistake this free choice to mean that it is optional! God does not change His
standards. We have the choice to measure up or not!
b. Adam and Eve were "free" to choose to eat or not eat of the tree.
(1) The "Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest
freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in
the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." (Gen 2:16-18)
(2) Even under the Law, Israel was to "choose" life. (Deut.30:19)
c. Rebekah was given the choice to be the Bride for Isaac, the only begotten son Abraham (The Father God) "said unto his eldest servant (Holy Spirit) of his house, that ruled
over all (John.16:12-15) that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh: And I will make
thee swear by the Lord, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a
wife unto my son (The only begotten son, The Lord Jesus Christ) of the daughters of the
Canaanites, among whom I dwell. But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred,
and take a wife unto my son Isaac. (Jesus) And the servant (The Holy Spirit) said unto him,
Peradventure the woman (The Church) not be willing to follow me unto this land..." Gen 24:2-6)
(1) Isaac was a "figure" of The Lord Jesus Christ. (Heb.11:17-19, Gen.22:1-14)
(2) Rebekah, then becomes a "figure" of the Bride, the Church that is to be presented. She
had a choice. (Gen.22:1-60)
2. David choose to voluntarily to pay the "cost."
a. The marriage is a voluntary cost. No sacrifice is to great when you are in love!
b. It is not a heaven or hell issue. (1Cor.3:10-15)
c. This is not buying your way in. It is cost in the sense of denying ones self. (Luke.14:25-33)
d. The Wise virgins paid the price for the extra oil. The Foolish did not buy (pay the price in
advance). (Matt.25:1-13)
e. King David voluntarily paid in advance, the price to prepare in abundance for the Temple.
(The Bride) 1Chron.22:1-19
f. It was the "Burnt Offering" (Voluntary with cost!)The "Burnt Offering was a "freewill"
offering.
The "price / cost" is also confirmed in Tabernacle pattern
The time of David (i.e.Tabernacle of David) parallels the Altar of Incense and the Vail that divided the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place. (Exod.26:33) This combination is a blueprint for "what the Spirit (is saying) unto the churches" in preparation for the next and final phase of God's purpose. Review: Phase 2 / Phase 4 .
1. Next was the "Vail that divided."
"And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail
the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most
holy." (Ex 26:33-34)
a. The Vail is connected to the Cross.
"Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new
and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;"
(Heb 10:19-20) (Heb.10:20, Matt.27:50-51, Luke.14:25-33)
(1) The truth of the "Vail" is, "Not my will..."
In the last days there will be those that will not have a love the "truth." (2Thes.2:10) Their
"will" will take preeminence over God's will. Remember. there is a competing Bride
forming in the Church today. This "mystery of iniquity doth already work." (Matt.26:39,
Luke.22:42)(2Thes.2:7) (Review: Phase 12)
(2) The truth of the "Vail" is contradiction.
"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before
him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the
throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against
himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds." (Heb.12:3) Remember, the context of
this pattern is being married to Christ. When Mary was chosen by God to be the Mother of
Jesus, she faced contradiction and paid a price for being willing to obey God.
(Matt.1:18-25)
Note: It was a difficult time for Joseph also who was a "just
