The Feast of Booths
"Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the Lord seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days. And ye shall keep it a feast unto the Lord seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths." (Lev 23:39-43)

This was the end of their calendar year

After dwelling in Booths for seven days, (Lev.23:39-43) the next event was the Feast of Passover on the 14th.day of the 1st.month. (Exod.12:1-14, Lev.23:4-8) They started all over again. This would continued until (Heb.9:10) Jesus came to fulfill (Heb 10:1-5, Matt.5:17-19) these Feast (festival, Holy) days. (Col.2:16-17, Matt.5:17-19) Once God fulfilled (complete) Passover, He became committed to go onto the fulfillment (complete) of Pentecost. There is no going back! The Churches at Galatia did go back, and Paul said they were
"bewitched!" The Hebrew Christians were letting themselves "slip" back also. Paul says, don't
go back, but "come unto mount Sion." Zion
(Heb.12:18-23) Review: Phase 2

1.  The Holy Spirit is leading the Church into Tabernacles. (There is no going back!)
     (Review: Trumpets and Atonement)

2.  What about the feast of "Purim" and "Dedication?"
These were festivals instituted by the Jews after God's Word had been written, with the
admonition, "Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a
liar.(Prov.30:6-7, Deut.12:32, Rev.22:18) These festival days were added as a tradition and
     not inspired of God.
(2Tim.3:16-17)
     a.  "Pur, Purim — a lot, lots, a festival instituted by the Jews.1 (Est 9:24-32)
     b.  Dedication, Feast of the — (John 10:22,42), i.e., the feast of the renewing. It was instituted
164 B.C. to commemorate the purging of the temple after its pollution by Antiochus Epiphanes
          (167 B.C.) 2

2.   The reality of this feast of Booths is seen in the Rev.12 Woman in the wilderness
      "
And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness,
into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the
      serpent."
(Rev 12:14-15) The reason for saying this is:
      a.  The Rev.12 Woman has already been identified as the Bride.
      b.  This wedding is foreshadowed by the day of atonement, The
7th.seal.

c.  After the atonement, the live (the Bride) goat (that is just like the Lord's goat / Jesus) is
sent out to a place not inhabited. This is exactly how the "blueprint" (ensample, shadow,
           type) reads.

     d.  This Woman (live goat) is like Noah in the Ark protected from the destruction.
          (Gen 7:23-24)  "
And every living substance was destroyed (Note: Rev.19:11-21) which
was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of
the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and
they that were with him in the ark
."

                .

Notes---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.  "Pur, Purim — a lot, lots, a festival instituted by the Jews (Est 9:24-32) in ironical commemoration of Haman's consultation of the Pur (a Persian word), for the purpose of ascertaining the auspicious day for executing his cruel plot against their nation. It became a national institution by the common consent of the Jews, and is observed by them to the present day, on the 14 th and 15 th of the month Adar, a month before the Passover.(from Easton's Bible Dictionary, PC Study Bible formatted electronic database Copyright © 2003, 2006 Biblesoft, Inc. 2.  Dedication, Feast of the — (John 10:22,42), i.e., the feast of the renewing. It was instituted 164 B.C. to commemorate the purging of the temple after its pollution by Antiochus Epiphanes (167 B.C.), and the rebuilding of the altar after the Syrian invaders had been driven out by Judas Maccabaeus. It lasted for eight days, beginning on the 25 th of the month Chisleu (December), which was often a period of heavy rains (Ezra 10:9,13). It was an occasion of much rejoicing and festivity.
But there were other dedications of the temple. (1) That of Solomon's temple (1 Kings 8:2; 2 Chron 5:3); (2) the dedication in the days of Hezekiah (2 Chron 29); and (3) the dedication of the temple after the Captivity (Ezra 6:16).
