What is the Language of Ashdod, Ammon and Moab?
Remember, the families of the earth were identified by their language / speech / tongue after God destroyed the tower of Babel and "scattered them abroad." (Gen.10:1-32; 11:1-9) Genesis records, "These are the families of the sons of ---- (divided v.5) after their tongues (language, speech), in their lands, after their nations." (Gen.10:5,20,31) Note: It was the language that divided into families and nations! It is your language (the words you speak) that defines what kingdom / nation / family your have spiritually married (Jam.4:1-4, Neh.13:23-24) into. (Psa.19:4, Prov.6:2, Eccl.5:1-3)
1. Who was Ashdod, Ammon and Moab?
a. Ashdod
(1) A strong hold city
Ashdod was a stronghold city of the Philistines (Josh.5:27) who were a continual adversary (enemy) of the
children of Israel. (Exod.13:17, Josh.13:3, Judges.3:3,31; 10:6-11; 13:1,5; 14 -16:30, 1Sam.4:1- 2Sam.23)
(2) Philistines took the Ark to Ashdod
When Ark of the Covenant was taken captive by
the Philistines it was
taken to Ashdod (one of the chief seats of the temple of Dagon) their
god. (1Sam.4:1-22; 5:1-12; 5:1-18)
(3) Goliath was there
Goliath was their (Philistines) champion. (1Sam.17:1-54)
b. Ammon
(1) Product of incest
Descendant of Lot and his daughters. (Gen.12:1-4; 13:1-13; 19:1-38,
2Peter.2:6-8)
(2) A mocker of the things of God
Ammon continually harassed the Old Testament "church in the wilderness"
(Acts.7:38, Judges)
(3) Was not allowed in the assembly
Ammon was not allowed in the congregation of Israel. (Deut.23:3,
Neh.13:1)
c. Moab
(1) Corrupt Genealogy
Descendant of Lot and his daughters. (Gen.12:14; 13:1-13; 19:1-38,
2Peter.2:6-8)
(2) Tried to curse the "church in the wilderness."
(Num.21:11-25:6, Acts.7:38)
(3) Moab was not allowed in the congregation of Israel.
(Deut.23:3, Neh.13:1)
Therefore any language that is oppose to the "things of God" (The Mystery of God 1Cor.2:4-14,
Eph.3:1-12) is as the language of Ashdod, Ammon and Moab. (Note: James.3:1-18)
2. Come out from among them (The family of Ashdod, Ammon and Moab)
Don't talk like them. What "agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God;
as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I
will receive you," (2Cor.6:16-17)
a. Come out from among their language (communications)
Just as Abraham was called out from Babel and looked for a "city," (Heb.11:8-10; 12:18-22) a "better country,"
(Heb.13-16) a better "citizenship," (Eph.2:19) the Church has been is called out "of this world." (Note: We are
in this world, but not of this world - John.17:14-16)
Remember: It was the language (tongues, speech) that divided (Gen.10:5) the earth into
families and Nations.(Gen.10:5,20,31)
(1) Speech
Paul writes, "My speech" is not "mingled" with the "enticing words of man's wisdom (1Cor.1:19:29; 2:1-14;
3:1-15) which is hostile, (Rom.8:5-8) and an enemy of God. (Note the speech, language, lingo, vernacular
of the apostles John, Paul, Peter's ) Look at the parallel between Moses,(The writer of the Old Testament
blueprint) and Paul, the "wise masterbuilder" (architect / reader and interpreter of the blueprint)
(a) Moses
Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds."
(Acts 7:22-23) However, "When he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's
daughter...Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt...he forsook
Egypt." (Heb.11:24-28) He forsook the wisdom and mighty words of Egypt and become "(slow of
speech, and of a slow tongue - Exod.4:10)
(b) Paul
Though "I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he
might trust in the flesh, I more." (Phil.3:4) "Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the
excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things,
and do count them but dung, (Egypt) that I may win Christ." (Phil.3:8-9) Note: Isa.64:6. Paul forsook
the confidence of the flesh and the "excellency of speech" and man's "wisdom"- 1Cor.2:1)
Don't get "entangled" with the language (wisdom) of this world.
It will choke out the Word of God! (2Tim.2:4, Matt.13:22, Neh.6:3,16, Col.2:10-12)
(2) Communication
Let "no corrupt communication (i.e. corruption from man's wisdom) proceed out of your mouth, but that
which is good (Bible language) to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace (2Tim.3:16-17) unto the
hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God" (Eph.4:29-30) with your mixed (corrupt) language.
3. Don't mix the wisdom of this world into your preaching and teaching
Note this example of Saul that has been written "for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the
scriptures might have hope." (Rom.15:4)
a. Saul set as leader
Samuel also said unto Saul, "The Lord sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now
therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the Lord." (Sam.15:1)
b. He was to destroy Amalek
Thus "saith the Lord of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the
way, when he came up from Egypt. (Exod.17:8-16, Num.24:20, Deut.25:17-19, Psa.83:7) Now go and smite Amalek,
and utterly destroy all that they have and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling,
ox and sheep, camel and ass." (1Sam.15:2-3)
c. Amalek is an example (figure, type, shadow, model) of our flesh today!
This I say then, "Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against
the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do
the things that ye would." (Gal.5:16-17)
(1) Amalek was the son (descendant) of Esau. (Gen.25:25-34; 36:1-2)
(2) Esau despised his birthright
He had the "birthright" privilege," but gave it up and despised it for a selfish need of the moment.
(3) Esau despised the lineage of "the seed of the woman." (Gen.3:15, Rom.1:1-9)
(4) The apostle Paul uses the example of Ishmael and Esau as examples of the flesh.
(Rom.8-16, Gal.4:21-31; 5:17, Heb 12:16-17) Note: Psa.83:1-7
(5) Amalek continued to despised their birthright (Gen.25:19-34)
Amalek tried to destroy "the church in the wilderness after the Red Sea crossing (Exod.17:8-16,
1Cor.10:1-11, Rom.6:1-6) Our flesh (Amalek) needs to be reckon dead. Crucified (Gal.2:20) and buried.
(Rom.6:1-11) Amalek refused the "church in the wilderness" right of way to enter the promised land.
(Num.20:14-21) Wanted to "corrupt" and "frustrate" the purpose of God for the "the Church in wilderness."
(Num.22-24, Judges.3:13, 1Sam.15:2, ) Our flesh (earthly wisdom, excellency in speech, mighty in
words) does the same. (1Cor.1:19-29)
The "mystery of God is foolishness to our flesh (Amalek)
(6) The descendants of Esau rejoiced at Judah's destruction
His descents "rejoiced" to see the House of Judah (Jacob) go into Babylonian captivity. (Obadiah.1:6-16)
This is the context for "Esau have I hated." As it is written, "Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
(Rom.9:13, Mal.3:1, Obad.1:6-21) God hates our flesh (excellency of speech, wisdom, natural mind) It
is "dung" (Phil.3:8) and "filthy rags." (Isa.64:6) Our flesh cannot please God. (Rom.8:8, Gen. 28:1-9,
Gal.4:21-31)
d. But "Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of Amalek
Saul and the people (1Sam./15:24) "spared Agag, and...all that (they thought) was good" of Amalek.
(The flesh, the wisdom of this world, the excellent speech of this world, the enticing words philosophy.
1Cor.1:19-29; 2:1-14, Col.2:6-8 )
(1) God's Word (Bible language) says,
There is "none righteous, (no Amalekites) no not one." (Rom.3:12, Isa.64:6)
(2) God's Word (Bible language) says,
In "me (that is in my flesh, Amalek) dwelleth no good thing." (Rom.7:18) Note: The only "good thing
in me," is Christ. (Phil.1:6)
(3) God's Word (Bible language) says,
"For to be carnally (fleshly minded like Amalek) is death." (Rom.8:6) It was to Saul. (Note: 2Sam.1:1-12)
(4) God's Word (Bible language) says,
The "carnally (fleshly, Amalek) mind is eminity (hostile) to God: for it is not subject to the law of God,
neither can it be." (Rom.8:7)
e. According to God's Word, all of Amalek was "vile and refuse."
In this modern day of "appeaser's" we make all kinds of exceptions to the rule of God's law. (Bible language)
Many are like Saul and the people, we destroy "every thing that WE THINK is " vile and refuse" (1Sam.15:9,
Jer.17:5)
(1) This is what happens when God is not reigning.
The King's language (Bible language) is not spoken or understood, (Neh.13:23-24) and man's wisdom
dominates. Then we want to indentify with this world's structure.
(a) The people said, "now make us a king to judge us like all the nations."
(1Sam.10:8:122; 9:1-27; 10:1)
(b) These "nations" were the very nations they were to defeat
Israel was to remain separated. (Neh.13:1, Deut.23:1-3; 6:10-15) Paul says, "my speech and my
preaching was not with enticing ("dung"- Phil.3:1-8) words of man's wisdom," but in
(Bible language) (1Cor.2:4)
(2) The pattern (The Bible language) was that God would rule
God told Moses that He would rule "from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims
which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the
children of Israel." (Exod.25:10-22, Num.10:33-36,)
(a) The children of Israel were called "the church in the wilderness." (Acts.7:38)
They are an "ensample" (type) for us. The Church, the Body of Christ. (1Cor.10:1-11)
(b) The Ark of the Covenant is a type of the throne of God. (Review: Phase.4)
(c) Jesus is our "mercy seat."
He is our "propitiation." (1John.2:2, Rom.3:25) The "Word made flesh" (John.1:1,14) who wants
to rule and reign, to have preeminence as the head of the Church. (Eph.1:22-23, Col.1:16-18)
(3) Saul never inquired of the Ark. (1Chron.13:3)
(4) When we rule with man's wisdom
We will always categorize sin into what we think is vile and what is refuse! Note: There is a
"division" coming in the Church. A division of holiness and separation in our works and our speech,
where the language (communication, lingo, vernacular) of this world (Ashdod, Ammon and Moab) will
be removed, cleaned out. (Those that cannot speak "the Jews language" (Bible language - Neh.13:23-24,
Rom,2:28-29, Gal.6:15-16) will not understand and reject "what the Spirit saith unto the Churches."
f. Come out from among their understanding
At the tower of Babel God said, "let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not
understand one another's speech." (Gen.11:7) Therefore to speak the language of Ashdod is to understand
"Ashdod." To understand Ashdod is to "mingle" with the household (family) of Ashdod, and do what the family
of Ashdod does because you are like minded.
When we have a "divided language," we cannot stand.
We cannot speak "half the language of Ashdod" (the wisdom of this world) and not speak Bible Language. (i.e. The language of the Jew inwardly - Rom.2:28-29) A house divided cannot stand. (Matt.12:25-26) Satan is copying this principle from the tower of Babel today to try and hinder and frustrating God's purpose from the inside (1John.2:16-19) the Church by dividing our language!
1. God commands His blessing on the unity of language
a. Unity is pleasant (when we say the same thing as God's Word)
Behold, "how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the
precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that
went down to the skirts of his garments...for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even
life for evermore." (Psa.133:1-3)
b. Without "a (unity) vision
Where "there is no vision,(i.e. oracle / revelation from God. Bible language) the people perish:(wander
aimlessly) but he that keepeth the law, happy is he." (Prov.29:18)
2. Note: Not all unity commands God's blessing.
Don't be deceived because there is a unity. It must be the "unity of the Spirit" (Eph.4:3) that we "endeavor" to
keep, not produce with man's wisdom and good intentions.
a. Babel was a unity
The Tower of Babel was not a oracle / revelation from God. (Gen.11:1-9)
b. The antichrist will have a counterfeit unity
There will a unity of purpose under the reign of the antichrist will not command God's Blessing. (Rev.13:1-18)
