The apostle Paul declared "we speak the wisdom of God in
a mystery, (known only to the initiated) even the hidden wisdom,
which God ordained before the world unto our glory."
(1Cor.2:7, Matt 13:11-15, Prov 25:2)
One part of the "mystery" is in the "language" Old Testament types ("ensamples" 1Cor.10:1-11)
and shadows (Heb.10:1-10)
The admonition is the same today as it was to the Corinthian Church, Brethren, "I would
not that ye should be ignorant." (i.e. Don't ignore, don't oppose, don't loath, don't have a reluctance
towards) how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea...baptized in the
cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink:
for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ." (1Cor.10:1-11)
"Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples (types) and they are
written" for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come."
